The Rockets are a sneaky good league pass team, I really like them. It’s looking like their last off-season was a giant homer, bringing in some solid veterans to this young core. They seem to really care and play hard.

I agree. Can’t help but think what could have been if Ime stayed on as coach with Boston. Could we have won it all last season?

Absolutely making it to the Finals (but get outlasted by the Nuggets). We wouldn't be down 0-3 to the #8-seeded Heat. I just rewatched some highlights of last year's playoffs. Game 6 and 7 against Philly. Game 6 against Miami. DWhite making himself a name here with Boston.

I like that Russell Westbrook has requested to come off the bench to help with the first unit continuity. I feel like he's matured from his OKC days. Stepping up and having that team-first mindset.

But the one that should be coming off the bench is James Harden.

They're obviously trying to incorporate him into the team and having him come off the bench probably isn't going to help.

If you put your money on black instead of red the wheel spins red.

Also, I’d like to see the Rockets play a few road games before anointing them.  They’ve had 7 home games against 3 road games, and have yet to win away from Houston.  I think they’ll be better than this year, but probably finish in the mid to high 30s for wins.  I said it when Ime got the job that he picked a perfect situation — a team that had been tanking for years and was finally going to start to try winning again, and using their cap space on something other than bad contracts — getting 10-15 more wins should be the minimum expectation in Houston.

I don't know.  Are adding FVV and Brooks, while subtracting Porter, worth 10 to 15 wins?

I think Ime has done a good job there getting buy in.

Ime is

I think so, especially when you account for the natural improvement of so many young lottery picks. (And the change from Porter to FVV is not small).  OKC made a similar jump last year, without a coaching change or major free agent signings.

Rockets are 6-4 and I’d be surprised if they made the playoffs. Defense is good (opponents are scoring 105.8ppg), but their offense is bad( scoring only 109.9ppg) which ranks them 24th in the league.

Celtics are giving up 105.9ppg and are scoring 118.4 ppg. Top 5 offense, top 5 defense. No, they likely would not have won last year with Ime. He was terrible in the Heat series and even worse in the Finals vs GS.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

LaVine and his representation hold several preferred landing spots, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and each team has registered some level of interest in the Bulls guard. LaVine also has an eye on joining the San Antonio Spurs, sources said, in order to pair with rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama and reunite with head coach Gregg Popovich, who oversaw the 2020 Team USA outfit that LaVine helped win a gold medal in Tokyo.  – via Jake Fischer @ Yahoo! Him on San Antonio would be interesting.

Be a mistake for Spurs to go with LaVine
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I feel like mentioning these other spots that aren't realistic is just an attempt by Klutch to make it seem like Lavine isn't trying to pull a Lillard. They can claim "Zach's open to all these places, he's not trying to maneuver to the obvious big market teams where we also have other clients (LAKERS LAKERS LAKERS)!"
