Looks like Knicks management has dismissed and banned Mark Jackson from MSG and from the team plane due to 'an old quarrel with Leon Rose and with an assistant coach'.

Jackson may an annoying guy, but the Knicks have been pretty irrelevant for 50+ years with pettiness like this. No wonder they don't win anything.

Getting rid of Mark Jackson is a winning move, though. Just ask Golden State and ESPN.

That and the long history of reported creepy behavior by Mark Jackson. Doesn't surprise me at all that an organization that knows him well banned him.

I'm just wondering why the hell MSG even hired him if this was gonna happen?? I know people hate the guy but that seems very wrong. Should have just not hired him in the first place, I refuse to believe they didn't know about all the drama nor did they consult with the Knicks organization beforehand

Probably because James Dolan would never ask/listen to/consider any of the people below him

IMO, a 5 game suspension is too light. 20 games makes more sense given how dangerous that neck hold was.

I agree about 5 being too few, but I think 20 would be exceptional, even for Green.

Westbrook is going to come off the bench.

I thought it should have been Harden. Put Mann back in the staring lineup. They had good chemistry together before Harden arrived. The onus is on Harden to fit into a well functioning group. Not on a well functioning group to radically change everything they do to fit in Harden.

That seems like a bit of a 180 from what he was saying before the suspension was announced...

Bingo.

Guy is atrocious.  I wish ESPN had kept Van Gundy but I shed zero tears when Jackson got axed.

i suspect there have been conversations about accountability going around. accountability for draymond for his loser actions, but also to kerr and the organization who have enabled him for years.

I like that Russell Westbrook has requested to come off the bench to help with the first unit continuity. I feel like he's matured from his OKC days. Stepping up and having that team-first mindset.

But the one that should be coming off the bench is James Harden.

That's a non-starter.  Harden would never accept coming off the bench.

Yeah, Mr. "I am the system" would certainly not be happy vying for 6MoY.

I actually had to look, in 5 games (all losses) and 160 minutes for LAC, Harden is -70.  Tucker is -37 in 6 games (also all losses) / 94 minutes for what that is worth.  I suspect that both will improve as they settle in with a new team (which takes time, just ask Derrick White), but that is really a frightful start to the Harden era for LAC.
