Does Michael Porter, Jr. only shoot 3's? Does he do anything else offensively?

Asking seriously as I didn't watch much of the Nuggets last season.

Pretty much.  He kind of lacks the handle to reliably create for himself off the bounce and he's not an asset as a passer.

I've never really been a fan of the guy, but admittedly a high-level shooter has a lot of value playing off of Jokic even if they don't do much else.

Warriors/Suns coming up next. So who is playing point guard for Phoenix this season?  ???

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Any day that the Lakers have the worst record in the NBA is a good day.

Feel like GSW without Draymond has no hope of slowing down Phoenix.

EDIT:  Right after I typed this Phoenix forgot what sport they were playing.

I actually forgot that GSW got Payton back.  He's the type of aggressive point-of-attack defender that can cause problems for an offense reliant on larger guards and wings as their primary offensive engines (Phoenix qualifiies, and so do we).

NBA predictions

https://abc7ny.com/sports/nba-opening-night-experts-picks-for-east-west-and-nba-champs/13963300/

Final tally (East champs):Bucks 6, Celtics 4, Heat 1, Knicks 1.

Final tally (West champs):Nuggets 6, Warriors 3, Clippers 1, Lakers 1, Suns 1.

Final tally (NBA champs):Bucks 3, Celtics, 3, Nuggets 3, Heat 1, Suns 1, Warriors 1.

Which Player will ask for a trade:

Final tally:Embiid 5, DeRozan 2, Young 2, Towns 1.

I think Towns could definitely be on the move at some point. Minny is slated to be a luxury tax team for the 1st time in 20 years or so and they're not competitive enough to support. I wonder if they look to move him for an expiring and a pick or 2. Funny enough, Miami could be a good fit and they have Lowry's contract to facilitate a move.
I think Towns is still worth more than an expiring and 1 or 2 late 1st's, but who knows anymore.

Yeah, I don't really know how to gauge his value at this point, but the combo of his injury proneness and Minny's financial situation leads me to think they could take a lowball offer if they can move off the money.
he makes too much for Boston to acquire. I'm hoping a team like the Knicks don't get him.

Ignoring the money, would you trade Porzingis for Towns?
Probably

What you didn't see him go 3 of 4 from 2 (and the miss was basically a pass to himself)?  The way their offense is set up, they prefer him and KCP to basically just stay on the perimeter and out of the paint.  Opens it up for Jokic and Murray room to operate in the paint and for Gordon to be the main cutter.

Davis totally disappearing in the 2nd half is typical of him, but is really strange for great players.  He should not have the level of inconsistency at this point in his career.  I mean he was voted a top 75 player in league history and is still in his prime.  Just really strange.

Saric is a good fit for the Warriors. Good get for them. Is Portland going double big or will Timelord come off the bench? Am excited to see Rob’s debut with the Blazers. Hopefully he gets at least 25mpg.

seems to me like they will be middling teams again. good enough to make the playoffs. but not top of the west.

LeBonds and the Lakers lose!

TPs for all!!!

I saw only a few minutes of the game, enough to see that a 39-year-old who has played more than 20 NBA seasons and 54,000 NBA minutes looked like the best athlete on the court.

It's honestly crazy how athletic he still is. I guess their plan is to play him around 30 mins or less a night during the regular season. Seems like a good idea.

It’s a good idea as long as the Lakers aren’t minus-15 in the 18-20 minutes he sits every night, as they were last night.  5-7 more minutes of LeBron playing the way he was, and the Lakers might have been in that game.  I’m not convinced the Lakers can go for much of the season with LeBron playing that number of minutes without falling back further than they’d like in the standings.
