Game 1 was the least watched NBA Finals game 1 since 2021 and 2020. The 3rd least watched since 2007.

A 5.7 rating and 10.99mil viewers. 5% drop from last year with DEN vs MIA and 8% drop from BOS vs GSW in 2022.

Guess this is why espn and their talking heads on all platforms have been ginning up Dallas.

If this doesn’t motivate JT nothing will:

Jason Kidd on Jaylen Brown: “Jaylen’s their best player. Looking at what he does defensively, he picked up Luka full court, got to the free throw line, he did everything and that’s what your best player does.”

I actually think it's mind games from Kidd. He's trying to create a "rift" there and maybe hoping Tatum forces it more in Game 2 and affects his own team.

I think that’s not going work within the team. JB and JT have heard it all.

I certainly hope it brings out the best in JT. Very risky thing to poke one of the best players in the league.

If MJ or Kobe heard this said about them they would be out for blood.

It's like saying Scottie Pippen is the best player on the team while Michael Jordan is also on that same team

Not surprised-To many days in between games. People start to lose interest.

Sadly to their defense, 2-0 leads mean nothing in a series. Opposing teams can still win 4 straight or go 2-2-1-1 and the road team claims Game 7

Does this also account for the streaming services? Because even though the Finals are broadcasted locally on ABC, I feel like streaming services online (including illegal ones) have been picking up a ton of steam in recent years. Are people utilizing that more?

I think it means a lot.  Boston hasn’t lost on the road this playoffs. Dallas has lost at least one game at home in each series.

Plus I don’t see any way in the world Dallas would beat Boston 4 out of 5 games. That hasn’t happened all season.

Game two is going to go a long way to shape this series.

Boston is also like 42-1 ALL-TIME in playoff series when up 2-0. Their one blemish was that 2018 ECF Game 7 (ugh) which still featured prime Lebron. But sorry, this Dallas team doesn't have that. Luka isn't that yet. And our team is vastly better than that injured 2018 "Scary Terry" squad. Going up 2-0 would be huge if they can win tomorrow night.

True. Can't believe we named that the Scary Terry squad lol! Folks are comparing this to 2022 when the Celtics went into Golden State and blew them out in Game 1.

Man Hurley turned down the Lakers and a massive contract (rumored to be 100 million) to stay at Uconn. Now they have to circle the wagons and go with guys that were clearly not their target. Not good.

6 years, 70 million turned down. Lakers now have cover to hire Redick which they wanted to do all along
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Hurley will have an NBA job by this time next year if he really wants one. The Lakers were a non-starter due to Lebron being there. Instead, Hurley put the league on notice that he's available at the right price and for the right situation - which I would imagine would be a ground up rebuild.

I think he ultimately wanted to go for history as only 1 coach has won 3 straight and that is Wooden.  I suspect had UConn lost this year, Hurley would have taken the job.

Hurley. Would just wind up getting fired and moving his family back east.

Lakers demand stars now, no patience ,don?t want to draft and build , he demands practices and excellence. None of this applies to anything Laker. Lakers just pick other teams dry of talent ?..hire fire coaches till they find something that satisfies the Laker Media outlets.

There has been some reporting that some of the players do not want Reddick to be the coach.
