In my mind this would be a fair deal:

Blazers: Williams III, Morris Sr, Covington, Celtics 2024 - 1st round pick, Warriors 2024 - 1st round pick (via Celtics), Raptors 2024 - 2nd round pick (via Clippers), 2024 Pacers - 2nd round pick (via Clippers), 2029 Clippers - 2nd round pick

Celtics: Holiday

Clippers: Brogdon

A 32 yr old Jrue better then Rob and Brogdon???  Yeah ok.  No thanks.

From what I’ve read, there’s a ‘significant gap’ between what the Blazers want and what the Celtics are willing to offer.

Given the volume of interest, I don’t think we’ll see Holiday playing for the Celtics.

Where are you reading that?

I think Holiday is exactly the kind of player Stevens values. The only question is whether or not he doesn't feel like he's worth as much because White gives a lot of what Holiday does.

33 year old actually lol

Remember that Williams is already out of Mazzulla’s closing rotation anyway.

Brogdon is 30 turning 31 in December, combine that with his degenerative injury issues, Holiday is a much needed upgrade.

Holiday
White
Brown
Tatum
Porzingis

This line-up would be a two-way juggernaut.

Assuming Holiday is part of a trade that includes two first round picks...that would mean, in less than 3 years, Jrue Holiday would have been traded for 5 first round picks and two first round pick swaps. Has anyone in NBA history been traded for more picks in that short of a span? I'm sorry, but he's not that good.

Co-signed. Jrue is not worth Brogdon & Rob, let alone with 2 1sts thrown in.

When a team is a true championship contender the margins to improve are so thin, and the chance that a player that can have a positive impact on your starting 5 becoming availible so unlikely, that you have to jump on the opportunity when it presents itself.

Jrue Holiday is simply that good.

This team has operated with a defensive force in the backcourt for a decade now and if it would be possible to not only keep that point of attack pressure but actually upgrade it, the potential impact is worth almost any resonable asking price from Portland.

The Bucks are all in and are now more talented than the Celtics at the top end. Trading for Jrue even at the expense of Timelord closes that gap back up and might actually put Boston over the top.

Make the deal, re-sign him, and make the final push  for Banner 18.

I’m thinking the “gap” means Brad isn’t including TL or Al?

That’s my thought. Sounds like he’s trying to go the Brogdon, scraps, and BG S&T route and the #/quality of picks are the issue, or they’re wanting Timelord.

Have to agree with the others that it’s not worth it if including Timelord, too, but, hell, if it’s Brogdon, BG S&T, end of bench rotation players, 2 1sts, and however many seconds, absolutely count me in.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Really just TL.  Can’t imagine the Blazers would have any interest in Al.

if they were serious about Holiday they should have agreed to take Bullock in the Grant Williams trade, this trade would be way easier as we would have had a handy contract in Bullock for salary matching plus an extra pick to use. But no, The owners went cheap.

Before anyone posts that they opted out because of the Draft pick consequences of the 2nd apron, please note that that doesn't come into place this year.

If you can get holiday without including Rob make the deal.

Losing Hauser, PP, Al and Brogdon would be worth it

I know the narrative that the owners are cheap is easy to pile on to but Bullock makes $10.5M and could not have been traded for Grant. Grant is a base year compensation contract so the max was $6.3M or about that.

Plus, even if he could have been traded to us, he could not have been aggregated in another trade thereafter.

and who knew Holiday would be available.  They should have just kept Grant, that would make trading Rob easier.
