Dak is the problem in Dallas. Far too many have elevated him into elite franchise QB status when he is simply a good but not great QB. I think the easiest way to show this is to say Cooper Rush went 4-1 last year as a starter when Dak was out.  Not as good as Dak, but the team kept winning.  That doesn't happen with true franchise guys.  Lamar gets hurt and the Ravens go from the 1 seed to out of the playoffs in 5 games (same with Lawrence and Burrow this year).  Lamar is a franchise QB, Dak is not.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Anyone surprised by the lack of interest in Belichick? Sounds like he’s only interviewed with Atlanta.. I thougt Dallas would have interest considering the’ve flamed out in the playoffs several years in a row. They looked awful on both ends of the field the last game. Guess they are sticking with McCarthy, though.  Chargers don’t seem interested in Bill either.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The Pats went 11-5 with Matt Cassel in 2008, and went 3-1 with Jimmy G and Brissett in 2016. Does that mean that Tom Brady wasn't a franchise QB?

Or does coaching, team building, and the quality of your backup matter for that stuff? Dak probably isn't the answer, but a playoff team being good with their backup QB doesn't necessarily mean that the starting QB is bad

Pats went 11-5 after going 16-0.  If they went from 12-4 to 7-9, would we consider that a success?  Obviously there was no expectation to go 16-0 again even with a healthy Brady, but the difference between those two seasons was astronomical.  The 07 team steamrolled their competition.  In 08, we took care of the bad/mid teams but never stood a chance against any of the truly good teams

The Bengals went 4-3 with Jake Browning as the starter and 5-5 with Joe Burrow.  Clearly the Bengals should move on from Burrow because Browning is just as good.

Burrow was hurt all year. He could barely move the first few weeks.  He finally started to get healthy and then hurt his hand

No one, least of all me, is claiming that the 2008 team was great, especially compared to the 2007 team.

Although I will note that the 2009 team went 10-6, which was worse than the 2008 team with Cassel. So it's not like 2008 was a huge outlier in terms of record (like it was in terms of playoff success)
I'm bitter.

Have a feeling the Texans could take this game… should be a good one.

I think one of these games is gonna be a blowout and one is going to be close. I just can’t figure out which is which.

The Texans are also a great team, but if the Ravens go one-and-done despite everything then they are gonna get scrutinized hard, especially Lamar. Lamar Jackson's one knock has always been lack of playoff success and he's been really bad in a few of those games.

Don't think the Ravens are gonna get much chances better than this one to make the SB. The path is right there for them.

Basically this is their year. If they go one and done, someone's getting fired.

It's wild that the Texans were the second worst team in the NFL last season.  They've played well all season.

That said, I think the ravens win by two scores.
