Seems odd to fire him in less than a year.

The rumor that came out is that the coach wanted Stroud and the owner wanted Young.
Yes and the coach was correct, so why get rid if him.

I'm assuming the Bears will have the 1st pick and take Williams, but then I saw this mock and I was legitimately surprised by this

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2024-nfl-mock-draft-bears-pass-on-caleb-williams-no-1-trade-fourth-pick-to-falcons-who-move-up-for-qb/

Williams fell to 3 to the Patriots in that mock.

Taking a non-QB at #1 doesn't make sense.  However the Bears should seriously shop the pick.  The hype around Williams should bring a great return.

And it wasn't even Harrison.  I mean at least Harrison I can understand as he is pretty clearly the best player in the draft.  Heck he might be already be a top 5 WR in the sport.  He is just so good.  But yeah the Bears should either take a QB or trade the pick to a team that will take a QB. And since the Bears will likely have 2 top 5 picks, they could trade that 1st pick and still get a QB regardless of what the trade is.  They also would have Fields to trade in that scenario as well (he may be worth a 3rd rounder).  They'd have to not love Williams or Maye and be ok with Daniels in that scenario though.

I also don't know if Arizona is going to stay at 2 or drop back for someone that either wants Harrison or Maye.  I get why the Cardinals may not take a QB themselves with Murray back and looking ok, but the Cardinals need a lot of help so trading that pick and getting more assets makes a lot of sense.  Drop back to the end of the top 10 and pick a lineman and have the assets to add more players.

Big win by the Bears for the Pats' pick! Now we just need some magic from Carolina and Arizona.

Three-time All-Pros Julius Peppers and Antonio Gates were chosen as semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2024 in their first year of eligibility.

Peppers and Gates headline a group of 25 modern-day semifinalists announced Tuesday by the Hall of Fame from a group of 173 nominees announced in September. The only other player who advanced to the semifinal stage in his first year of eligibility was running back Tiki Barber.

Eight players who made it to the final stage of 15 in the class of 2023 return as semifinalists this year, with Jared Allen, Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, Patrick Willis, Willie Anderson and Darren Woodson all looking to get in after falling short a year ago.

The other semifinalists are Eric Allen, Anquan Boldin, Jahri Evans, London Fletcher, Eddie George, James Harrison, Rodney Harrison, Robert Mathis, Steve Smith Sr., Fred Taylor, Hines Ward, Ricky Watters, Reggie Wayne and Vince Wilfork.

It's rough being me. If enduring Joe's coaching isn't bad enough, I have to watch KOC prove he was a eunuch in a past life when it comes time to bury the other team.

I keep telling myself God is preparing me....
Back to wanting Joe fired.

The Vikings are cursed. I used to like them back during the Moss era. I remember being shocked when Gary Anderson's kick sailed just wide. From what I learned later on, Vikings fans were not so surprised.

And then we got stuck with the crappy Falcons in the SB against Denver.

I've never been a Bills hater- they've been like the little brother of the Pats for the last 25+ years. It's hard to root hard against a team that can't compete consistently. They've recently improved, but seem to be miles away at 6-6 from winning a championship.

The Bills need to cut Von Miller immediately. They have reached a fork in the road. They can gain/lose a lot of respect at this juncture.

High scoring very entertaining game.  Seahawks had to score 3 times at end of the half, but go in up 1 in Dallas and Seattle gets the ball.

Geno Smith has come a long way since his days with the Jets. Finally got to a team with some talent and a good coach…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Thoughts on Aaron Rodgers attempting to return from Achilles injury and play some snaps for the Jets this season?

I mean, the AFC is so weak and if the Jets can still mathematically make the playoffs and maybe upset the Eagles (again) in the Superbowl...might be worth the risk. High risk high reward type of move?

That team ain't making the Super Bowl.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're out of it by the time Rodgers actually does come back (Week 16?).  At that point, it's stupid to even be playing him.
