Looking at the top 13 ranked teams, 7 of them will be in the SEC and 5 will be in the B1G next season.  The only outlier is Florida State.

Its been floated out there on Reddit but what do you do under this scenario?

ACC Champ: Undefeated FSU
Big Ten Champ: Undefeated Michigan (or Ohio St)
PAC 12 Champ:  Undefeated Washington
Big 12 Champ: One loss Texas
SEC Champ: One loss Alabama

Holy crap. It actually happened

Yeah it’s tough

Michigan and Washington will be #1 and 2. That’s guaranteed

Texas is in at 3 or 4. But they should be in regardless.

That leaves 1 spot for Florida State or Alabama. I would go Alabama because they’ve actually played like the best team over the past month, but you can’t ignore FSU going undefeated even with Travis done for the year. Either way there’ll be a disappointed fanbase lol. Glad I’m a neutral fan  :P

Wait.....
Texas beat Alabama already. Why should they be in? Over an undefeated FSU team?

That would make zero sense.

I think the Bama argument is that they have arguably the best win on any resume and they won their conference.

I have no idea which way the committee will go with Bama, Texas, & FSU.  Personally, I think the best 4 teams in the country are probably Mich, Wash, Bama, & Georgia but that’s not the way things are gonna play out.  I don’t see a scenario of Georgia getting in at this point.

Someone is def about to get screwed tomorrow, though
out or curiosity, how is Georgia better than Ohio State? There are basically no metrics from the season that support that.

Eyeball test. They were also consistently the #1 or #2 team the entire season (so the committee was seeing it) until yesterday and actually played this weekend. I’m also not skewed by Buckeye fandom.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Neither of those teams are getting in.

Something else to consider, Alabama literally needed a miracle to beat Auburn the week before

If we're talking about "close games" or "struggling" against others, Alabama did that last week as well. Wasn't just Georgia and Florida State like discussed before.

Florida State's defense is very legit. And they went undefeated despite everything. Kind of feels like you have to put them in. If so, the decision will be between Texas and Alabama for the 4th spot. Alabama may have the better win, but Texas beat them ON THE ROAD by two scores. Kinda a big point too, beating Alabama on the road is not easy at all. And their lone loss was in the final seconds against Oklahoma.

If you want the most deserving teams, it should be Michigan-Washington-Florida State-Texas.

If you want the true best teams right now, it should be Michigan-Washington-Texas-Alabama.

Will be a tough decision. I personally don't think Texas should be screwed out of a spot though.

I think Texas is in (probably playing Michigan, though) and it really comes down to Bama or FSU.

One thing for sure is ESPN will really be crying if Georgia, Bama and OSU all miss the playoffs.  The ratings are sure to take a hit.

FWIW, the AP Poll currently has Alabama at #5, with the Top-4 being Michigan, Washington, Texas, Florida State in order. I know it's not the same as the CFP rankings with the Committee, but it's worth noting. Also reading online, it does seem like a lot of the "experts" are projecting Alabama doesn't make it.

Florida State #5, Georgia #6.

So they went with the "4 best" instead of the "4 deserving". Sucks for Florida State, but I think not having a QB due to Travis going down did them in unfortunately. Feel for them.

I image Michigan picks Rose Bowl over Sugar Bowl.  Can’t imagine Michigan wants any part of Bama in New Orleans.

Both games look incredible on paper

I think those selections make sense.  I think they're the best games for the fans, anyway.

Florida state undefeated and don’t go to playoffs, unreal!! I would boycott any bowl game…u knew NCAA had let an SEC team in & since Texas beat Bama, they had to put them in..still very unfair to Seminoles, go undefeated and don’t get in

There is no justification for Texas going from 7 to 3 ahead of Florida State who was 4th last week. They both had double digit victories against opponents ranked in the teens. That game doesn't make up the difference and Bama was already the best win of the 2 teams so them winning didn't do anything to the discussion.  If they were going to do this, they should have done it last week and had Texas at least ahead of Ohio State if not FSU.

Committee once again full of inconsistent nonsense

If Florida State beats Georgia, I'm guessing they are going to get a lot of 1st place votes.  Committee set up the potential for a real controversy there and a split national championship.  Good job, morons.

I can't imagine the majority of voters takes an undefeated FSU over any of the top-4 after that teams beats two of the others.

For instance, if Alabama beats Georgia, Michigan and Washington in three straight, who can argue that FSU is better?
