Texas' offense is very explosive. Even in their close loss to Oklahoma, they put up 30

Definitely trying to make a statement here. They'll still need Florida State to lose, but if they do I think they got a great chance to make it.

Assuming Georgia + Michigan win, Florida State loses AND Texas wins, I wonder who they pick between Ohio State and Texas. Personally, I'd go Texas. I do think the fact that Ohio State isn't playing while Texas and others still are should be a factor. And say what you want,  but I thought USC got screwed the exact same way last year. They played the PAC 12 Champ Game ranked #4 while Ohio State sat at home at #5, and because USC lost the extra game they got taken out. Should have been Georgia vs. USC

Curious to see what they do this time. If Texas wins the BIG 12 and Florida State loses which I think might be likely actually, then Texas should go in. Frankly even if Alabama beats Georgia I'd put Texas in, they do have the head to head over Alabama on the road as well.

I’d go with the one loss conference champion who actually played this weekend in this instance.

Yeah I wasn’t really thinking they would pick osu over Texas if Texas wins and I don’t think Texas is losing. As I’ve said I’m a big ten fan as a Penn state alum and the conference as well penn state were just not very good this year.
Texas/Oklahoma rematch would have been much more interesting.  Texas is going to run up the score against Okie St to make it harder for the committee to leave them out.  That's interesting with all the grief SEC fans get for rooting for other SEC teams.  Rarely hear someone admit to being a fan of another conference.

Personally I think it has been a down year for all of CFP.  Just aren't any elite teams although Georgia is closest.  The 3 most talented teams, Georgia, Bama and OSU, all breaking in new QBs.  Well maybe Texas A&M should be in the top 3 but they screwed the pooch as usual.
As hard as it is to admit, Michigan has been pretty clearly the best team this year.  They crushed everyone until Harbaugh went out and then beat 3 good teams without their head coach.  Georgia has played down to their competition a lot and all throughout the season including last week against Ga Tech.  That doesn't mean Michigan will win as anything can happen in one off games against good teams, but they've been the best team thus far.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Michigan played an incredibly easy schedule.  20+ teams could have been 9-0 after Michigan's first 9 games.  Then they beat an overrated Penn State team who has already fired their OC.  They could have lost to Maryland who was the 1st team they played whose offense had a pulse. Then they beat an OSU team who is clearly not as good as they usually are.

Georgia was missing 3 of their top 5 receivers including Bowers against Georgia Tech.  They were still up 31-13 going into the 4th and then Tech scored 10 unanswered points to make it look closer.  Bowers has missed 3 games and McConkey has missed 6 games.  If Michigan faces a healthy Georgia, I expect the results will be similar to 2021.  Georgia has better talent and better coaching.

I have a feeling too. I did pick Georgia to win 34-24 and am sticking with it, but I'm a bit of a believer in the "wow it's their year" and "momentum", and you can't say that 4th and 31 play felt magical last week. Pure luck? Maybe. But that stuff typically happens even with elite teams, sometimes luck is involved. Milroe has been playing exceptional as well over the last 2 months including with his legs. He's dangerous with his dual-threat ability.

Should be a great game.

Georgia hasn't exactly played a gauntlet either. Missou, Ole Miss, and Tenn aren't exactly great teams. And beating SC by 10 and Aubrun by 7 just isn't impressive.

Michigan dominated everyone until they didn't have their coach and as mediocre as PSU has looked, I'd take them over Missouri any day of the week who right now is Georgia's best win.  At the end of the day OSU will be the best win of the 2 teams as they will finish in the top 6 and PSU is a top 10 team and Iowa will be a top 25 win.  Michigan should be the 1 seed (and with Texas winning you don't have to worry about a OSU rematch).  Now if Georgia comes out and crushes Bama, they have a much better argument as the best team.

Also I forgot to mention about last night's game, but that was an exceptional game from Penix. Yes there's the slight injury concerns and he's already 23, but throughout the entire season when he's needed to make a play, he's made it. Huge throws under pressure. His receivers aren't always open either but he still puts it in the right spots. The team is undefeated. I think he and Jayden Daniels could really rise on Draft boards, maybe even both of them to the Top-15 (one in the Top-10?). It's not just Caleb and Maye.

If I'm the Pats, and I don't have a Top-2 pick, then I would consider taking Jayden Daniels wherever he is. If it's around #3, take him. If he's not expected to be a Top-5 pick, trade down to get him and get 1-2 additional picks as well. This is a deep QB draft, there will be options for sure.

Georgia Tech lost to Bowling Green (one of Michigan’s weaker opponents) by more than they lost to Georgia.  Michigan’s schedule wasn’t great, but Sagarin ranks it at 55th and Georgia at 56th.  ESPN has it at 38th and Georgia at 61st. Let’s stop imagining that Michigan played no one and that a team like Georgia didn’t.  It’s a tired narrative.

Good start in Georgia-Alabama. I wonder if Alabama wins a close one, does Georgia still sneak in at #4? I'm not suggesting it, just asking the question. The commentators did too which is why I wondered. I'd still have Florida State or Texas make it.

SEC is getting 1 team. If Alabama, Michigan, and FSU win, it will make for a very interesting discussion on Alabama vs. Texas, but I do think they'd take Alabama over Texas given the toality of their schedules, even with the head to head.  Georgia would have no argument to go. I'm not even sure they'd have a much of a case to be ahead of OSU.

If Bama wins, that helps Texas because their road win at Bama would look even better.  Georgia would need Florida State and Michigan to lose to get in.

If Georgia can't score a TD soon, Alabama's got this in the bag. They've felt in control for most of it.

Amazing win for Alabama.  One of Saban's best coaching jobs.

Bama has to be in the playoff.  It's a joke they came into the game ranked #8.

Why is it a joke? They needed a miracle 4th and 31 conversion when the defense inexplicably rushes 2 guys against a bad team that had just got shellacked at home by New Mexico State to avoid their 2nd loss. Oh. And that came after a muffed punt.
