There is no way to know Hopkins would be better than JuJu? Really? The years of data can't tell you that.

Hopkins really has not been a difference maker. I’m very confused why you are acting like he has been a great addition for the titans. I unfortunately have to watch him some time cause he is in my fantasy team and he has absolutely fallen off a cliff (and he hasn’t been able to stay healthy since 2020). I admit I wanted the patriots to sign him this off-season but I am very glad they didn’t. (Not to say I am happy they signed juju at this point either). Lot of things you can better pat your back on than hopkins. This was absolutely not a miss.

Personally I still think Hopkins would be the best receiver on our team. Yeah he's not prime Hopkins, but the frustration overall for me is that Mac hasn't had a WR1 while literally every other team does. Even the bad ones. Who has Mac's best receiver been? Meyers/Bourne? Love both but those guys are #2 WRs at best (but more like WR3)

Belichick clearly thought the juice wasn't worth the squeeze when it came to Hopkins.  Would this team be anything besides 1-2 with Hopkins?  I'm guessing probably not.

The team clearly has had a strategy when its come to WR1s over the years.  For whatever reason, the emphasis really hasn't been there outside of Moss who they brought extremely low. It's mostly been gambles or veterans barely hanging on. Non-TE, who was the best WR in those six world championships?  Branch?  Edelman?  Brown?

Fix the OL and some of your receiver problems will go away.  I do think you'll see the offense get incrementally better as the season progresses.

A guy we could have really used is thielen. He is helping out Carolina’s rookie qb with very steady dependable play.

Not sure how much he’s helping Young, but Andy Dalton loved throwing to him last week.

you cam get away with that when you have the best QB of all time, but it is a problem for virtually anyone else.

Yeah, seems to me like Bill still thinks he has Brady, or he thinks "the system" is so good that he can plug any QB in there and it'll keep chugging along like it did with Brady.

The titans scored 3 points Sunday and hopkins caught 3 Of his 7 targets can we stop this lunacy that he is somehow a difference maker at this stage of his career? It’s getting a little weird

Hopkins doesn't practice to BB's liking. If this didn't work for Gronk, it won't work for Hopkins. It was a non-starter. People are pretending when they think he would have worked out in NE.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

This is true but also the biggest thing is he just isn’t that good. When these receivers lose it is not slow. Do people not remember Julio jones, ty Hilton and aj green the last few years? When these guys get to be 31 they fall off a cliff AND can’t stay healthy. Considering hopkins hasn’t been healthy in years mo’s continually bringing him up as a big miss seems pretty misguided if he is being serious.

Agree with some of what you said, but here is why Bill needs to be fired. His philosophy worked because of Brady. Not spending more than 11% of the cap on WR was okay when we had the goat.

It's not okay anymore.  You need at least one dominant WR ideally two. Who's our go to receiver now with Juju hurt. Hunter Henry? Who else?

That doesn't cut it and now we have an average QB to boot. The end of an Era is here and it's time for a Regime change.

Why is myles bryant still on this roster? All i ever see is him getting burnt lol. Got lucky on that last play
Probably because we're down a handful of CBs

I'm really impressed that we were able to get some coverage sacks/forced throwaways today given how depleted the secondary is. It really says a lot about Gonzales and our post-McCourtey safety situation
I have been impressed with Gonzales

I think we got extremely lucky twice that he was still there at our pick. He is an ideal size/athleticism CB1 and he has looked like a 2nd or 3rd year player. Not a rookie that was thrown to the wolves.

I saved a set of stats I found interesting the other day about elite receivers when guarded by Gonzalez.

Week 1:
Brown - 19 routes, 4 catches 47 yards
Smith - 11 routes, 2 catches 22 yards, 1 PBU

Week 2:
Hill - 17 routes, 0 catches on 2 targets, INT
Waddle - 4 routes, 1 catch 15 yards

Week 3:
Garrett Wilson - 23 routes, 3 catches 18 yards.

That is about all you can ask from a 21 year old.

Would not be shocked if he ends up All-Pro somewhere down the line.
