Could be a long day in court for me, so likely won’t be able to make my pick early. Should still make it before the allotted time, but sorry in advance if I hold anything up.

Trial in housing court for my client who is being accused of some pretty wild stuff, should be a fun one

Oh, man.  I did a little of that in my much younger days.  Those are fun, especially if you have a judge who is patient and lets you make whatever you can pull out of your butt for arguments,.

Nearly time for round 4!

New idea:  we turn this into a 30 round draft, picking morning, noon and night.  Haha.

I pick third but only have two targets.
I'm 4th and only have 1 again after Alvin went
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Inquiring minds want to know:  is this the round you take a guard?  A 12-man team of nothing but bigs and forwards would be entertaining.

let's put it this way, big men are at the top of my talent remaining list.

Yeah, the top ranked players on my board all play the positions I have already drafted. A couple of Cs, two SFs, a PG. So I might take a 6th man if those guys are still available at the end of this round.

I do have one high ranked PF who would fit my team. He was actually my top target for round 2 at the start of that round but two guys ended up being available in King and KJ who I did not expect to be available. So I took them instead.

There are a few bigs and one point guard I’m shocked are collectively available. Bigs I suppose because of talent pool. Guard I’m more surprised. One or two wings in that bucket but less so.

I don’t have anything in rounds 5-6 so I need to nail today.

I'm really counting on one of the four centers I have highly ranked still being available... and of course, I pick in the middle of the round  :'(.

[Hubie] Brown compared King's speed on the wing during fast breaks with Julius Erving, LeBron James, Karl Malone and Dominique Wilkins among small forwards. Indeed, King's swooping approach and violent, explosive launch made him one of the most effective finishers of his era.

"It was all about body control," Brown said. "He had such great body control, so when he drove, he knew how he'd score or find contact and draw the foul. You watch LeBron James these days and you see the same thing. LeBron knows how to evade the offensive charge. So did Bernard."

The comment below is from Reddit. Not sure its accuracy but the rest of the comment was spot on and detailed so it is probably accurate.

Similarly, King's scoring stats for the entire '84 playoffs were 35 ppg and 57% FG in 12 games. The only post-seasons ever that look similar to that are

    • Wilt Chamberlain in '64 playoffs: 35 ppg, 54% FG, 12gms
    • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in '70 playoffs: 35 ppg, 57% FG, 10gms
    • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in '77 playoffs: 35 ppg, 61% FG, 11gms
    • Michael Jordan in '88 playoffs: 36 ppg, 53% FG, 10gms
    • LeBron James in '18 playoffs: 34 ppg, 54% FG, 22gms

If my 2-3 guys aren't there at 4.12 and people find themselves wanting to lock down their last starter, I'm open to moving down so I'm not empty the next two rounds.

I think the problem with a lot of the obvious centers is that we're playing under a modern ruleset, right? And whilst it's very easy to make the case that Shaq or Wilt were absolute menaces who could dominate up and down the court in any era, with any ruleset, it's a lot harder to say that for some of the guys who we have left on the board. That's why Pau goes well before Yao Ming, for example.

I'm hoping my xtra large binkie is there at the end of the next round tomorrow, but I can say with certainty that the first pick of the fourth round won't be a big.

edit: might have to submit my pick a tiny bit early as I've got something at 4pmEST so hoping that 3:55-3:59 is all right?
