I didn't think Blake was eligible since he played last year.

So did Iggy. I thought it was based on who had signed a contract for this season?
Yeah, that was the settled rule. Given Blake is still unsigned, the pick is valid

With my next pick, I'm going with one of the all-time greatest defender still left on the board. 4x DPoY, he's the only player in NBA history with more steals than turnovers and more blocks than fouls. He's one of only five players to lead the league in blocks and turnovers. All of this, while only being "officially" 6'9" (he was definitely shorter). The LA Clippers select...

Big Ben Wallace!!!

Big Ben Wallace!!!

I think you just locked down the best defensive team in this draft.  Nice pick.

Wrong team -- this is Thompson, McGrady, Griffin.

Hell yeah. After I chose Sidney in the first round, that's the way I've been trying to build.

Ben was my second choice after Mutombo, as I think Mutombo's better offense slightly outweighed Ben's better defense. However, that's a pretty dang good second choice.

I was tempted to draft Big Ben and play him at PF next to A Mourning. Twin towers. Well, mini Twin Towers.

Blake is listed on the Celtics roster at nba.com.  I thought he signed a 2 year contract last year.

This is the problem with a weird rule that isn't straightforward.

Edit: I guess he only signed for 1 year, but the roster at nba com had me eliminate him. Not sure I would have taken him, but I still think it is an issue.

I’m sorry that it was confusing, I don’t mean to acquire technicalities. He’s a FA tho and thus precedent was set with Iggy.

The other thing that weighed against Wallace in my mind was his FT%.  Every team in here would play Hack-a-Ben to an extreme degree.

NBA.com is wrong, as I would have thought all the Blake speculation on this board would indicate. The rule is completely straightforward

This was one of the main reasons I didn't want to deal with Dwight.
