I see that Brissett had the best on-off-court-differential of all the regulars in Indiana last season.

Nice find. TP.

Does this mean we are out of the Terence Davis sweepstakes?

That's interesting.  His minutes per game was cut significantly last season from the two prior years, where he averaged about 24 mins per game.  Just 16.7 mins per game last season.  Only 31% from 3.  Probably struggled from the field from not having a regular role and unable to get into a rhythm.  Kinda like Pritchard.

Haven't thought too much about how Brissett fits into the rotation here.  If he gets regular minutes I expect him to shoot better than 31% from 3 for sure.  He'll have easier looks with better talent around him.  Recall Derrick White - when we traded for him he was only shooting 31% from 3.  Brad stated that he believed that White would benefit from being around better players, and that White was a much better shooter than the 31% indicated.  This season proved Brad right.  White ended the year at a solid 38.1% from 3.

I think so, they have very similar statistical and physical profiles.

Terence Davis is definitely stronger and more athletic put it could be argued that Brisett could be a better fit for the roster, especially given that he played with Malcom Brgodon in Indy.

I'm fine with just Brisett but if we bring in Davis as well that would give us just about the biggest wing rotation in the league.

Isn't Brisett a much bigger player?

Well at the very least everyone involved with the Pacers seems to have liked Brissett, so that's a plus.

Sounds like an end of the bench signing. I still expect Hauser to play over him.

No issue with this move. Cheap, solid wing, good defender. Gives them some flexibility as they really didn’t have any other wings outside of JB/JT/Hauser. Will be interesting to see if this is more a Hauser thing or a Grant thing.
More of a Hauser thing, IMO.  Really wonder where that leaves Sam now.

I like the signing because Brissett has the defensive ability to play in a playoff series. Hauser may not be that level of player but both along with Walsh give the Celtics 3 good sized wings to spell Tatum and Brown.  Brissetts size and length would have been a nice option to throw at Butler this last series.

Dude couldn't even beat out Aaron Nesmith for that starting PF position last year.

Brissett played 17mpg on a team that had no talent at the forward positions. They played a small SG at SF in Buddy Hield and had nothing but 3rd string talent around Hield in the other forward minutes whether it was Nesmith, Duarte or Jalen Smith. None of those guys are good players. Why was Brisett only playing 17mpg?

Hauser is an under-rated bench player. He is very strong offensively. One of the top shooters in the league. And he is a better defender than he gets credit for him. He is a good backup SF. He will take some beating to lose his minutes.

I would be surprised if a guy who could only manage 17mpg on a terrible forward rotation is good enough to take Hauser's PT.

Indiana wasn't trying to win last year they were trying to develop their young players. Brissett wasn't in future plans.

I'm just hoping this isn't the best free agent we sign, but I'm expecting it is.
