(Always wanted to do one of these)

I don't hate it this at all. For the vet min, when he had a down year last year. Buy low risk free.

Good all round player.

So looks like he is Gallinari's replacement. Great. Indy folks saying he's a good bench guy...hope to be the case in Celtics green.

I only know Brissett just because he torched us from three in a game last season. He’s a nice 3 and D guy. His signing doesn’t spell the end of a GWill comeback right? We still need GWill as a back up defender at the 4 and 5 spots?

If he can get his shooting back to a good level, he’s a handy piece. I wanted him when he was in the midst of his best season - rebounds and hustles hard. I think he can top out as a Torrey Craig type
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

6-7 210 lbs journeyman forward.  Plays SF/PF.  In his best year averaged 24.7 mpg, 10.9 ppg, 42.4% from 3PT, .9 spg, and 1.0 bpg.  Feels like a versatile backup.  If he can return to form could be a nice 3 and D piece for us.

That 42% from 3 was only over 20 games his 2nd year in the league. His career average is 34% which is OK but not great. The league average is 35%?  Still he's only 25. Definite rotation guy and an upgrade to Hauser in terms of his overall game.

I see that Brissett had the best on-off-court-differential of all the regulars in Indiana last season.

Me too, and I recall thinking, "Why can't the C's get a guy like that?"

I wonder where this leaves Sam Hauser for a role/minutes.

No clue. Don’t recall seeing him play, so what do I know.
How much did they sign him for? Do they have any money left to sign anyone else?

Yeah.  He was the only rotation player to have a positive net rating.  That’s one of the things I like to look for in a potential bench player from a bad team.  Net rating has noise, but when your otherwise bad team outscores it’s opponents while you’re on the floor, and didnt do that with any other regular, that’s a good sign.

Big solid athletic guy. Can defend. I'll take it.

He is better than Javonte Green...so at least the Cs brought in a legit wing with size.

No issue with this move. Cheap, solid wing, good defender. Gives them some flexibility as they really didn’t have any other wings outside of JB/JT/Hauser. Will be interesting to see if this is more a Hauser thing or a Grant thing.

More of a Hauser thing, IMO.  Really wonder where that leaves Sam now.

My guess is its a "you need 15 guys on roster and we only really have the minimum to offer thing" more than anything else. Him being 6'7, 25 years old and having torched the c's last year all likely helps.

He's good enough he might play some, which is nice, but at this level of player I don't think you pencil in production. Its about having options and seeing which one sticks. Brissett, Walsh, Hauser all fit that mold.
