Maybe somebody has mentioned this possibility before, but on the "NBA Front Office" show yesterday w/guest Jake Fischer they were talking about the remaining FAs potentially having to sign for the minimum and speculated guys like Oubre and Wood might just be waiting for the Lillard thing to finish before they sign with Miami. I know that those guys are flawed, but it'd still be pretty annoying to see them rehabilitated in Miami. Here we go, another year of "Heat Culture TM" propaganda!

I am surprised nobody has signed Anthony Lamb yet. He was a solid middle of the pack bench SF last season. An excellent 3rd string SF.

For the Celtics?

We got enough bench SFs already. Otherwise, yes I would've loved him here.
I would be fine with adding him and playing Brissett as a bench 4.

White / Pritchard
Brown / Brogdon
Tatum / Hauser / Lamb
Porzingis / Brissett
Horford / Williams 3

I think it could be worked - Lamb as some injury insurance in case Brogdon or Brown go down (which they usually do at some stage)
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

if he is solid SF wouldn't he be ahead of Hauser?

Hauser is better. Two similar players. Both high grade spot up shooting SFs. Hauser quicker and longer. Lamb slower and smaller but stronger physically. Hauser would get the nod in most matchups.

I think the Lillard to Miami situation is a crossroads for the NBA league office. If they allow a player who signed a long term max deal to make this type of demand and force his way to one single team for a mediocre return, it has major implications long term. None of them are good. The league office needs to set an example with this.

John wall working out for teams in Vegas.

I wonder if the Celtics have any interest

I’m sure they’ll go to a workout, but I don’t think they’ll go beyond that.

Brad Steven's track record is that he tends not to go for these over the hill veteran types.  There will be many that no doubt will advocate for him and then complain if he ends up signing in MIA or something.  I can't imagine he would be any help at all to the Celtics.  But brace yourself for the "it was dumb to sign Banton, we could have had Wall"; "Brad is horrible at FA"; "the Celtics are cheap and don't care about winning"; posts starting soon and continuing through the season.

I'm not sure that Wall is the right fit, but if Brad chooses not to pursue him and he has a great year, why shouldn't Brad be criticized?

I'm not sure if he has much left but as a 3rd point he might be alright.

I am glad they are doing their due diligence on Wall. Who knows, maybe can be better than Pritchard on a subsidized vet min contract. Then we can waive Champagnie and trade Pritchard and some seconds for Isaiah Stewart. I have my doubts but I always liked Wall. He is a tough player. I just worry about durability.

If Russell Westbrook can provide a positive impact for the Clippers, then I dont see why John Wall couldn't for the Celtics. He's got a nice 3 point shot when he's got it going and Boston could use the depth at PG.

Hope the workout exceeds expectations.

Wasn't John Wall with the Clippers before Westbrook? And failed to have that impact there?

Edit:

Yeah, Wall was shipped off in that Eric Gordon trade. He spent the first half of the season with LAC. He wasn't good enough to start due to his lack of shooting. They used him as a playmaker for their 2nd unit.

I believe LAC were happy with his passing but his shot happy ways (10 FGA in just 22mpg) and inefficient scoring (50% TS%) hurt his impact. As did his bad defense.

I think his outside shot is pretty spotty, and his defense has regressed terribly.

That said, I'm not sure what happened with the Clippers.

Russell Westbrook being a lot better at basketball right now is why. Wall would be okay (sort of) as a 3rd stringer, but he’s worse than Pritchard

Shams Charania of The Athletic tweeted the Suns are "frontrunners" to sign Bol Bol, who is a free agent.

The Suns are at 14 players right now on their standard roster, but haven’t officially signed Josh Okogie, who has agreed to a one-year deal with them.

When Okogie officially signs, the Suns will be at the 15-man roster limit for the regular season,
