The Wizards are still working on ways to get Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics in an opt-in and trade scenario, but it won't be in a three-way with the Clippers, sources tell ESPN. Porzingis still has the ability to decline his $36 million player option and become a free agent.

Well, that’s super interesting. So it wasn’t necessarily about Zinger wanting too much in an extension, but rather that LAC wasn’t happy offering up other compensation?

That’s the only thing that makes sense to me to why you’d suddenly scrap the third team.

That is so stupid for LAC. They were getting a bargain in Brogdon.

Agreed. He’d fill a major hole for them. I wonder if they got word that CP3 is going to sign there if bought out after all?

If so that LAC pulled out, that’s a major blow to a good get for him. I wonder if there’s some ominous news about Brogdon’s injury abd he might be out for an extended period this season.
I was wondering the same thing.

Sounds like Clippers were wary of Brogdon’s injury status

Tbh that’s gonna be an issue if we’re trying to trade him away.

Concerns raised by the Clippers about Malcolm Brogdon's injury status, league sources say, led to the collapse of the three-team trade expected to send Kristaps Porzingis to Boston before midnight tonight.

A direct Wizards/Celtics deal has not been ruled out.

Called it. I wonder if he’s projected to miss significant time. Would make sense why we’re trying to deal him so hard.

Do they even need the Clippers??

Just do Brogdon + Muscala + PP (or Brogdon + Gallinari) and pick(s). Or did the Clips have something Washington really wanted

Wiz want the first round pick

Fine, give them a 2025 or 2027 1st. I don’t mind

I am now concerned that the Celtics won't have Brogdan this season because of the injury.

I’d give up Smart to facilitate it but this organization seems to have him in their untouchable list. Idk if Washington wants him either

The #35 pick isn't much different than a late first.

Wow Clips are the ones that backed out? They were getting a legit player for nothing, and he wasn’t signed to a terrible contract so they could have taken the risk at the expense of a 30th pick.

Concerned over Brogdon’s injury history? What did they learn in the last few hours that everyone hasn’t known for years?

Guess Clips are going down the CP3 route.

Hope Brad and the Wiz can salvage this deal by midnight.

Clips taking CP3 would be comical. Dude is cooked and hurt more than Brogdan.

Sounds like Washington and Boston might still work out a trade. Maybe find another 3rd team somewhere.

Well that's interesting, it seems like it was the clippers end that fell apart not that contract extension with KP. Seems to indicate LA didn't wnat to give up the 30th for Brogdon, or they finally got uncomfortable with the tax bill. Maybe his injury history scared them?

Brogdon+Galo basically need to be in the deal to make the salaries work, but its hard to see the C's throwing in other assets if Brogdon is in the deal and its hard to see Washington wanting Brogdon in a rebuild.

Don't know why the Cs need a third team. Deal with the Wiz only and get it done.

KP for the equivalent of Brogdon, Gallo, and Williams was risky, but had upside

Adding Smart or a #1 would just be foolish.

Why is everyone, and Twitter, acting like this is a done deal. It’s not official yet, right?

When the pieces being traded are so detailed and listed by multiple credible sources, it usually means the deal is essentially done.
