ESPN has the Celtics finishing first in the conference for the first time since 2016-17 off of a record of 55-27.

Their projections have Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks finishing just behind Boston with a 54-28 record, and the Cleveland Cavaliers rounding out the top three with a 50-32 record.

ESPN also lists the 76ers (47-35), Miami Heat (46-36), and the New York Knicks (46-36) as the other top contenders in the East this season.

Curious why the Knicks would be a threat

Tom Thibs effect with guys like Brunson and Barrett, etc. Won't be surprised if it's Celtics/Knicks ECF. Bucks get ousted in the second round. Miami is probably another team yet again to not sleep on.

They already signed saric as a bench big and just worked out a bunch of wings. I personally would like Blake back.

As much as Blake loves Boston, it's no secret that at this stage of his career he would much prefer a team in California for personal reasons.

True but beggars can’t be choosers. He sounds like he would be happy to return to Boston than be out of a job. Personally I’d like to have him back for 10 mpg of front-court duties.

Centers:

Rob
Al
Zinger
Luke

Why would we want another center added to the roster? Seems misallocation of resources. And I like Blake a lot.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Perhaps because Rob/Al/Porzingis are likely all to be minutes restricted and Luke is not an NBA-level player? Just a thought.

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly interested in signing him and reuniting him with CP3:

I think Blake doesn't like Chris very much from what I've read.

Simmons said Philadelphia is his preferred destination if ever traded, calling the city “a second home to me.”

Quote
Simmons told Andscape “it was good timing” when he left the 76ers.

“Obviously, the injury and everything that was going on didn’t help. But I think it gave me a chance to really appreciate it,” he said. “I’ll always have love for Philly. People always ask me like, ‘If you were to get traded again where you want it to be?’ I always say, ‘Just Philly. Philly is a second home to me.’ And in time, you learn and grow as people. I don’t really have anything bad to say about Philly. It was a crazy situation at the end, but it is what it is.”

Yeah that isn't going to end well for Simmons.  For having played there for years, he seems incredibly ignorant that the fans actually have a memory.
