First time, Embiid has hinted if not in Philly, somewhere.

Him and Tatum would win 4 titles easy together.

Embiid has been a long-term admirer of ours. Brown + Timelord + significant draft compensation (i.e., handful of firsts and swaps) for Embiid would be fun. Never happening, but the team would be huge

White / Pritchard
Brogdon / Hauser
Tatum / Walsh
Porzingis / Brissett
Embiid / Horford

What a lineup that would be. Right out video game dream team!

That’s weak of him to intimate that he’s never had a chance at a title.  He’s been on teams that were good enough to win but he’s never taken his game to the next level.  I’m not saying they’ve ever been the favorites, but he’s had enough talent around him to get it done, but he’s always been outplayed by other teams’ best players

The year they had Jimmy Butler was their best bet at winning a chip but lost to Kawhi Leonard. Then there were the days when he's got James Harden, or Al Horford...basically seasons where the Celtics have ended their run

The Hawks year was really unacceptable.  And I know game 7 was the Simmons game, but they lost that series in game 5 when they had a 22 point lead at halftime at home and lost.  They got outscored in the 4th quarter 40-19 and Embiid was 1 of 5.  That was the game that really turned that series, but they also lost games 1 and 7 at home.  Just embarrassing.  And while Embiid was solid statistically, when it mattered Young outplayed him.

NBA veteran Kemba Walker signs one-year deal with AS Monaco to play in French LNB Pro A, EuroLeague

Nothing wrong with playing overseas. Someone should tell I.T.

AS Monaco is a good team they had Mike James this season who had some nice moments with the nets in the recent past. Believe Durant went and watched some of his games

Also, who wouldn't want to be based in Monaco (especially if you're a multimillionaire)?

Kemba Walker on potential NBA return: I'm not sure, I'm solely focused on my new adventure

Is returning to the NBA on his mind? “I’m not certain. I mean, the NBA is obviously the main goal, but I’ve played there for many years. For now, I’m solely focused on my new adventure, this experience that awaits me with the new life I’m going to have. I’m so excited and eager to seize this opportunity in Monaco. I can’t wait to explore the city and meet the people, my teammates, the staff, and everything surrounding the club. We’re going to have some great moments. Can’t wait for it to begin,” Kemba Walker concluded in his first interview as a Monaco player.

“The club was very interested in me, and I just wanted to be part of a club that wanted me, that believed in me. I saw that the directors felt I could help them reach another level. That’s what convinced me and made me decide to join Monaco. What’s more, it’s an extraordinary city where I want to spend some time and gain new life experiences. So it’s going to be a really fun time, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity. I just want to keep playing basketball at a high level, and Monaco allows me to do that“, Kemba Walker said for the club’s website in his first interview upon signing for Monaco.

His goals with Monaco are quite straightforward, and he assures he’ll do everything in his power to help the team. “I just want to win. Win, win, and have fun doing it. I want to share my experience with the guys and the team as much as possible. I’m willing to help 100% and in every way possible. I’m ready to do whatever my team needs from me. It’s something that we’ll need to discuss in more detail at some point. But literally, whatever my teammates need me to do, I’m ready to do it. I want to enjoy playing basketball every night, and be highly competitive, and I know that’s the case in the Euroleague. I know it’s tough with brave and determined opponents. That’s how I want to be on the court, competing against the best.” – via EuroHoops.net

It’ll be the biggest for a minute.  The unanswerable question is how big will it seem 5 years from now.

it probably wont even be in top 10. its why all these fretting from celtics fans about how hes "not worth it!" is just pointless. Its not like Celtics are paying Jaylen more than Giannis/embiid/Doncic etc. because they feel like it. hes just a supermax free agent in a year where the cap is the highest.

and next year it will be higher when other guys are up. and so forth and so forth.

he will be the biggest contract ONLY because he's the first. we can debate all day whether or not hes worth it. BUT the market says thats what he is worth. and paying him is the best option to win a championship

Thoughts?

Pierce believes he was better than D-Wade

“Put Shaq on my team. Put LeBron and Bosh with me. I’m not gonna win one? You put me, LeBron and Bosh, we not gonna win one? We not gonna win a couple? Who's the better 3-point shooter? Is he a better scorer? OK, he averaged more points than me career. I can shoot the 3. I can mid-range. I can post up. I can get to the line. Who a better scorer?

“For a long time, my skills went unappreciated because I didn’t get to play with a lot of great players,” Pierce continued. “And then I got to play with KG and Ray [Allen] past their prime. Four years earlier, you put me, Ray, and KG together, you think we ain't walking away with three ‘ships?”

I am not sure he is saying he is better than Wade, more that Pierce would have won multiple titles too if he had gotten to play with who Wade got to play with.  As to who is better, I think it is a tough call.  I am a long time Celtics fan so maybe lean a little towards Pierce, but it is really close in my mind.  I do agree that Pierce was underappreciated outside of Boston for quite a while.  People knew Pierce could score but I think didn't appreciate his rebounding and defense; his overall toughness and competitiveness.

I love Pierce because he’s a Celtics fan.  A Celtic through and through.  The speculation of who’s better between 2 great players is just talk.  I hope he isn’t burdened by it. My guess is he isn’t, just enjoys the banter.

Pierce had 3 3rd Teams and 1 2nd Team All NBA.  He had 5 seasons with MVP votes getting into the top 10 once (7 in 09).

Wade had 2 1st Teams, 3 2nd Teams, and 3 3rd Teams All NBA plus 3 2nd Team All Defense.  He had 8 seasons with MVP votes, 7 of which were in the top 10 and 2 of those were top 5 with a 3rd place finish in 09 and 5th in 10 (which were not Lebron or Shaq seasons).

Sure Pierce probably would have had more titles had he had different teammates, but it doesn't mean he was better.  When they were on their "own" Wade showed he was better than Pierce.
