I don't know who you mean regarding the Heat but Oubre made over $12M last season.  Started 40 games out of 48 played.  It is not surprising to me that he doesn't want to come to Boston on a min contract, guaranteed or otherwise, to be the 8th guy in the rotation.  I am somewhat surprised that he didn't get something from someone, but I don't think this is about the Celtics being cheap. 

He is a career 33% from 3, only 32% from 3 last season.  Even though he was able to average 20 points, I think he would disappoint on the Celtics if he didn't embrace his limited role, which I don't think he would.  He can score and does get to the FT line but is highly inefficient.  I can't say for sure about his defense and passing other than based on reputation, which isn't good.  I get the interest in having a scorer off the bench, but I doubt it would work out for him or the Celtics.

They're talking about Dame Lillard. Presumably the Heat will have to give up multiple players to get Dame, so it could open up a starting spot in Miami which Oubre likely prefers. It makes sense to me if that's the case. He's going to take pay cut, so it makes sense to angle for a situation where you can potentially start to showcase yourself for next offseason.

Ah, that makes sense.  The whole Lillard thing has been so quiet, I had forgotten about it.  I am not sure how certain it is now that he will be traded to MIA.  My understanding was MIA was offering Tyler Herro and a bunch of other not so valuable pieces which I don't blame POR for not taking.  POR would probably do it if it was Herro and Adebayo but I can see why MIA won't do that.  Not sure I see how this get resolved, at least before the start of the season.

Anyway, if that is what Oubre is waiting for, it may not be the best choice.  He probably figures he can get a min deal somewhere at the last minute, and he probably can, but rosters are filling up.

For the last 2-way spot?  He is already 24 and still rough around the edges, doesn't look like an NBA-ready player currently.  He is running out of developmental real estate but clearly has an NBA body and athleticism (at least based on what I saw in the highlights).

I was looking at TOR roster/contracts.  They have 16 guaranteed and a couple non-guaranteed Exhibit-10 contracts.  They are going to have to move someone.  I wonder if they would consider a trade for Achiuwa.  He is in the last year of his rookie contract so will become a RFA at the end of the season (assuming a QO is offered).  His contract this season is $4.4M so I think we could use the TPE or offer Pritchard.  Probably the former is more likely.  Is he worth a 1st round pick, maybe the GSW pick?

I'd like this but doesn't that take us over the 2nd apron? I guess we could cut someone like Banton if he isn't working, he's only guaranteed $200K.  Would we have to give up a couple of 2nds? A first?
