As I hear - we are going for Svi mykhailiuk for the two-way I believe or some minimum anyway..hes aite but I think to be used as trade material I guess?

Google says he signed a deal with Panathinaikos earlier this week, so I’m not sure this is accurate.

Lol idk xd

Wouldn’t he be redundant with Sam?

Yeah- he seems very similar to Hauser. If Sam can't get the minutes, how can this guy? He hasn't exactly been a good NBA shooter with the Pistons, Thunder, Knicks, or Hornets.

I love the idea of getting excited about new guys. I'm not sure how much it will matter, unless they actually play. I think Joe is going to play 8-10 guys in the regular season, and 8 guys in the playoffs. Unfortunately, this young man doesn't appear to be a top 8 player on this team.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Weird.  Yesterday there was an article at the link below saying he just signed in Greece.  This morning the link just takes you to a 404 not found page.

I don't know much about Svi Mykhailiuk, not sure I remember ever seeing him play.  I guess you bring him in because you feel he could develop into something, he certainly isn't going to help right away.  Maybe he could be a decent insurance guy.  But at 26 years old, if you think he is going to develop, you better hope he is a late bloomer.  I could see a role as an insurance guy.  Certainly more useful than Champagnie and maybe still with some ceiling.

To clarify though, wouldn't he have too much experience to be eligible for a two-way?  He has 4 years of experience.  Isn't it less than 4 (or is it 4 or less)?

Mykhailiuk would be a good fit.

For a chance at a championship, I think the C's could have a good shot.

What do they have now, 1 full roster and 2 two-ways?  I think he'd want the full roster for sure.

I think we have one 2 way left. JD and Scrubb are both 2 way guys right?

OK, Thanks, TP given.  I will say I really like the off ball movement (something the Celtics need) and he dished out some nice passes.  And of course the shooting touch is good.  No highlights of defense or rebounds so I am assuming that is the issue.

Based on everything, I say sure, bring him in.  Looks like a potentially useful insurance wing for the end of the bench.

This is my understanding and as shown on Spotrac.  One open 2-way and two open regular roster spots.  Plus Kornet is only lightly guaranteed.

I agree he looks  like a worse shooting, but better passing Sam Hauser.   If this is our veteran minimum it is another Brad Stevens cheap out.  It would be a great two way signing.

Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk can do more on the floor than Hauser. He can handle and pass. Hauser is more of a forward and Mykhailiuk is more of a big combo guard. I think he's a good fit for Joe's offense.

Still hoping the Cs give this guy a look. Maybe he’s looking for a guaranteed deal or is looking for a situation where he can get some playing time. He looks decent in this video but who’s he playing with? We’ve seen IT dominate these Pro Am leagues and yet he’s without a team as well. I think a 2 way is the most realistic for Giles at this point.

to follow up a bit on the points above, mykhailuk seens to be much better than hauser at shooting after taking a few dribbles, which is nice.

hauser, last year shot something like 42% off of catch and shoot 3s. very good. but when he had to catch the ball and then dribble to take a shot, he average dropped to something like 30% (i may be wrong on the last number, but it was not a good percentage.)

so, maybe mykhailuk provides something more on offense? as for myhailuk's defense and rebounding, i have no idea.
but hauser was a pretty good team defender last season. and it helped the celtics when teams hunted him since it changed the opponents offense from a team offense to one-on-one and produced less efficient shooting.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Derrick White: It would be cool to get an extension with Celtics, I love it in Boston

On Tuesday, Derrick White appeared on ESPN’s “NBA Today”, donning a newly-shaved head that made headlines earlier in the week as he expressed excitement for the year ahead. He shared with Malika Andrews that he was excited for his new role as the team’s starting point guard (as confirmed by Joe Mazzula last month), and most notably, that he would like to sign an extension before the season starts, if the opportunity presents itself. “I love being here in Boston. It would be cool to get an extension,” White said. “We’ll see what happens during that window, but I’ve loved my time in Boston so far and my focus right now is just on the season.” – via Keith Pompey @ The Philadelphia Inquirer
