The Heat are great at forcing opponents to play their style; which makes it so win or lose, they have a great shot at winning. It’s their half court defense against your half court offense and vice versa.

They have great chemistry, are very well coached, conditioned, and resilient team. They toyed with the Hawks and Sixers and took us 7 last playoffs, broke the Bucks and Knicks this playoffs, and people still underestimate them.

Our biggest flaw is the tendency of allowing opponents to play their style of game. We can still win playing Miami’s style, but it’ll be a series of nip and tuck games that come down to conditioning, coaching, execution, and overall ability.

With no PJ Tucker to chase JT around, plenty of offense and depth, and the Heat having to play Jimmy and Bam 40+ minutes every game, I like us to wear them down and win in 6.

I feel similarly as others. I know traditionally you'd think home team wins Game 1 easily, then road team becomes desperate and gets a close win Game 2. I don't see that this series. I think if Boston wins, they have a great chance of going up 2-0. If they lose, I still am very confident they win Game 2. Feels like Game 1 could sort of give us an idea as to how this series goes. Hopefully Boston actually comes out on a mission. If not, Butler and the Heat will win.

Basically, I think Boston puts themselves in an awesome position if they take Game 1. If not, it's just more uneasiness early in the series which I wish we could just avoid

Hopefully the fact that they beat Milwaukee plus our long series with them last year will keep us engaged and not looking down on them purely for being an 8th seed.

C's in 6

I think we lose one close one and take a night off.
That said I think we hit our stride in game 7 and will not take our foot off the gas pedal.

I voted Celtics in 5.

I think this series goes one of two ways: Celtics assert control and take it in 5, or they flounder the way they have all playoffs and it’s a tossup in game 7.

I think Tatum is going to ride the wave from the way he closed the Sixers series and Celtics win in 5.

Answer: They did not.

I fully expect them to win Game 2, but now this series is going at minimum 6 games, but probably more like 7. It really is a joke. They can win Game 1s at home in first rounds (BKN last year, ATL this year) but outside of that they very rarely can win a set at home (it's usually always a split; even Finals last year, when they went to TD Garden for Games 3-4 they split that, no sweep)

Brogdon just said AL had to tell the team to tighten up because they were a little loose in practice.

This team is infuriating. I'm glad I didn't get sucked into thinking they turned a corner on Sunday.

you guys are so negative....you just made the quote sound alot worse than it actually was...

https://twitter.com/RealBobManning/status/1658515080336605185

he said there was a "point in practice" where guys played loose an Al got them together to tell them to tighten it up. You make it seem like they had a poor practice and Al had to yell at them...

cmon guys be better than that.

The Celtics have been frustrating to watch at times. You can't deny that. I'm not saying we should overreact to this report, but we shouldn't sugarcoat it, either.

Did brogdon sound concerned to you? Was a throwaway comment this board is blowing out of proportion

After what we saw tonight, do you want to change your tune?

Same. I predicted Celtics in six and I'm sticking to it. With this team, you can count on us to play lousy basketball at least one game a series. It's disgusting, but I've come to expect it.

This might shock people.

But gun to my head... I probably predict Heat in 6  :(

When the C's play like they did today, or late in Game 6 vs PHI, they are unstoppable. Problem is, they aren't always consistent. We can get by ATL despite sleepwalking a few games, and barely get by PHI, but I highly doubt they can afford to do that against Miami.

I HOPE they prove me wrong though obviously. We should absolutely win this series on paper and we have a lot more talent, even though I have mad respect for Butler and Spoelstra in particular.

Well that’s one game they sleepwalked. If they do it again at some point, I fear it’ll actually cost them though  :(

Miami is going to take huge advantage unlike ATL/PHI if they decide to have another letdown game

The coaching mismatch might be too big in this series. Miami plays with complete purpose and the C’s freelance way too much. I’m already worried about Game 2.

I said the same thing, C's in 7.  Because I watched the previous two rounds.
But at this point, if we stop playing def for a quarter each game, we aren't going to make it to game 7.

JB says they came in too cool. If so they’ve run out if mulligans, Miami isn’t going to let you off the hook like Philly did.
