Don’t think they’ll fire him bc of the optics.

What I think they’ll do is have a sit down with him and tell him they’re prepared to keep him but feel he still has a lot to learn, and try to handpick his assistants for him.  I think this would cause most coaches to resign, and I think that’s what they’ll hope Joe does.

GoCeltics just made a bad night worse.  Unnecessary and ignorant.

That said, I am hoping the performance tonight leaves no doubt. Joe  should be gone by the end of the week.

After an unsustainable start to the regular season, this team has consistently underperformed.  We underperformed against Atlanta in the first round.  We underperformed against Philly in the 2nd round.  And now we're just getting destroyed by the Heat.  All of this despite having arguably the most balanced and talented roster in the NBA.

Many of us saw Joe's weaknesses throughout the season (I mean, they're not hard to spot).  He is being completely exposed in the playoffs.  He has consistently failed to extract the most out of this team's talent.  Such a waste of a good roster.

The players deserve blame too, of course.  But we start every single game with the handicap that is Joe Mazzula.

I hear your point but couldn’t disagree more. He’s gone. Might be the only good thing to come of being so soundly thrashed by a less talented team.
Cs are less than the sum of their parts. That’s on the coach first. After that, I’d say no one is safe.

Having the head coaches of the 3 top seeds in a conference all be fired would be incredible.  I can't imagine it has ever happened before.

I'm 100% serious wondering what exactly he does as a coach? We have no offense. It's guard takes it upmtop, pass and shoot or settle for a coasted layup. There's hardly any sets with the ball swinging around, which is odd as you would think that would be all we do in order to get looks at a 3.

The defense is just to drop out side the restricted area and either give layups or bunnies.

Other than expressing undying love for tatum, what exactly does he do? Serious question.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Bring back Doc. He had his faults, but he's a vet coach who's managed a wide range of NBA personalities and would know how to handle these guys. He got Pierce to mature and turn into a legit NBA finals MVP, which took a ton of work, and he kept Rondo in check long enough to win a ring and get back to the finals in his time here. Rondo was as tough a challenge as any coach will get. Heck, he got Embiid to play at an MVP level and Harden to become an assist leader. Doc would have no problem calling out Tatum, Brown and Smart and would push them to be the players they should be.

Yeah I said the same thing about optics in previous page too. TP.

Their biggest mistake was removing the interim tag. No reason to do that.
