Celtics blew 20+ point leads in games 1 and 2, and a 14 point lead in this one. Brutal.

The team lost its composure, went through long scoring droughts, and blew large leads in 3 out of 4 games to a significantly inferior team.

I'm not sure how to divide up the pie chart of blame, but Joe gets a chunk of it.

And looked totally unprepared for the closing moments like they had never been in them before.

They look like a team with no direction in crunch time. If they didn?t blow teams out they had a tough time even last year at times. This team needs a coach not an analytics guy who sits on his hands.

Mazzulla brought this on the team with his asinine "darkness" comments. We had no idea how "dark" it was going to get lol  :'(

And this is why it's important to close out your games when you're up by 20, esp both home games. C's would've been up 3-0 and this was the outlier game they could've lost or a scheduled loss and just given Tatum and guys some rest. The Knicks were just making shots all night long.

Now we have career-altering and franchise-altering things to worry about while being down 3-1

NBA.com just released the Advanced Stats for the game and they're pretty telling.

The Knicks won the shot margin - they took 92 shots vs our 79, and they made 50 of them vs our 38. They made nearly double the amount of 2 point shots that we did (Bridges and Brunson killed us from the midrange and KAT killed us with those floaters in the paint. The Knicks scored 64 points in the paint - twice as much as we did, and 22 of them were in the last quarter when we were running our two-big lineup of Al and KP. They shot nearly 70% in the 4th quarter - only made 2/4 3s but didn't need to with how much they scored in the paint. Again, a failure in execution by the players, this time on the defensive end, which is unfortunate since we actually shot ok this time - not as good as G3 but should have been good enough to win the game if they showed more connectivity on defense. And I think Joe has some accountability, I know Jaylen was having a bad game but 5 mins in the 4th quarter?

With JT most likely out, Joe will have to make some adjustments. He's got no JT, no Sam and KP as a passenger. Someone from the Stay Ready group might have to step up, unless he wants to go with a seven man rotation (given it's win or go home he may decide to keep playing time to his circle of trust). I'm guessing he does the latter and everyone plays more minutes, and he starts KP with Al at the 4 to replace JT. We'll see how it all works out.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

KP?s defense has been a complete non factor. His rim protection has been a zero. 2nd year he has been pretty much absent come payoff time it?s time to cut bait if they can.
Horford, time has finally caught up with him. Celtics have a real issue with bigs next year.
I don?t think Joe is a good enough coach to deal with JT?s injury.

This is what happens when you have an average coach who was god awful in situations in game 1 and 2. In just hope to god Brad lets him go this summer.

we are pizzing away what future we may have if we keep joe. he has to go and go now. hes whiffed 2 outta 3 years now with finals talent. had we kept IME we woulda been in finals 23, 24 and 25 and most likely win 2 of 3. shoulda won in 22 but that was his learning year. joe is a joke. so many wasted years since 2018. feels like we have had JB and JT 20 years now. we have one last run. keep JT and go get greek freak and make one last run in 2 years. giannis is 30 now. youd have a 3 year window to win a couple titles if JT sits out a year for recovery. window would close with giannis at 35. I say do it. This whole experiment of developing JT and JB for a dynasty has failed epically due to many factors a huge one being COACHING.

yup. you simply CANNOT blow leads like that in 2 STRAIGHT games with the other team not really playing well and expect to come back and pull this out. SW made a good point. The knicks were hitting shots this game and this woulda been no big deal with us up 3-0 like it shoulda been. This was the outlier game. no harm no foul had we been up 3-0 like we shoulda been. now we are done like dinner. fire joe lets move on. im fine with tanking next year. keep PP, DW and jT the rest can go. get giannis. prepare for one last run. we have blown enough years with this core and dumb coach. brad looks dumber and dumber each day he keeps this clown.

If we're a "tread water" team for the next season or two, I don't think we'll make a coaching change.  Ownership is trying to cut costs, so I can't see them paying both Joe and whoever they hire to replace him.
