Unfortunately this was all avoidable with some good coaching in games 1 and 2.

This was all avoidable if the basketball players on the court could?ve hit any wide open shot they took while up 20

This was all avoidable if JB could handle the ball.

Lots of blame to be assigned.

If we're a "tread water" team for the next season or two, I don't think we'll make a coaching change.  Ownership is trying to cut costs, so I can't see them paying both Joe and whoever they hire to replace him.

This. I can't see Brad firing him after he guts the roster this summer. He'll probably see it as a good opportunity to see how Joe does with a very different kind of team.

We hit how many 3's last game?

All 5 guys stand around beyond the arc, and then when it's late, one or two make some pathetic move inside. that is our offense and once there's no room to skip pass or work for a good shot, we get bad possessions. That is Mazzula.

We had no rim protection last night and got killed on the glass. A good coach doesn't watch that all night. He tries SOMETHING. Our chewed gum as he does when the ship is sinking.

If all the players had to do was make shots, then why do we have a coach?

Joe is by far and away the reason we've lost to inferior team for 2 out of the last 3 seasons.

Amazed how the defense has slipped in the second half of these losses.

Definitely my biggest frustration last night in the 4th.  Celtics weren't stopping anything.

I get the concerns with Mazzulla as a coach.  He deserves his share of the blame.  But Udoka lost in the first round.

My point is that say the new owners want a new coach, they buy into all the negative hype that Mazzulla is a bad coach, the problem with the team.  My prediction is that the new coach will not be all that much better, if better at all, than Mazzulla.  Time will tell, if they do go a new direction.

All coaches have a shelf life.  Mazzulla is kind of whacky so maybe his shelf life is even shorter than most.  That alone can be a reason to change coaches.  But I don't expect a new coach makes a huge difference.

And I think Joe has some accountability, I know Jaylen was having a bad game but 5 mins in the 4th quarter?
Jaylen had foul trouble. He picked up his 5th foul and Joe took him out at the 10min mark. Did not bring him back until the 3min mark.

I agree that Joe kept Jaylen out far too long. They needed him on the court. Joe was too cautious over that foul trouble. Hurt the team.

Hurt in 2 ways

(1) Knicks were making their run. Team needed more help. Jaylen is our 2nd best player. We needed him on the court. Jaylen wasn't playing well but neither were the other guys. I'd rather have Jaylen out there than them. Porzingis was killing us. Just not healthy enough to be out there. He was playing instead of Jaylen.

(2) Hard for a player to come back and play well after sitting that long too. Jaylen needed to come back at the 5-6min mark. Let him get a rhythm. 3min is too late.

The team lost all cohesion while Jaylen was out. You can't be that cautious over foul trouble when the game is going away from you. When the guys you have out there aren't getting it done. You gotta come back with your star player quicker.

Jaylen was at the scorers table ready to check in for a few minutes, but there were no whistles in the game for him to sub in at.  In the end Joe called a timeout and that got him back in.  In theory you could say he should have called it earlier, but we only had 2 left at that point so then we are talking about onoly having 1 timeout the last like 6+ minutes of the game which would have been tough.  Just a tragic set of events really.

Mike Malone is available. But if the organization doesn?t come off of the chuck 3?s philosophy then it don?t matter.

It may have been worth intentionally fouling somebody to get a stoppage.  It's not like we were stopping the Knicks anyway.

Mike Malone?  The coach just fired by DEN because his team underachieved for two seasons with the best player in the world?  Exactly my point.  He might be better in some areas, worse in other areas.  Maybe his shelf life ran out in DEN.  He was coaching well, it was just the players stopped listening.  There is not guarantee that BOS would be any better with him as coach.  Maybe, but I am not so sure.

Is 18 for 48 last night too many?  Should they have taken 40?  Is 37.5% from 3 why they lost?  They lost ORebs 13 to 7.  That is 6 extra shots.  Had nothing to do with how many 3s.  I don't think it had anything to do with coaching either.  The NYK players just played better.  They got more shots (due to ORebs) and made more of them.
