So my thoughts on some of this:

Detroit getting Wiseman is a good deal for them.  I think there is still plenty of potential left there.  It is a salary dump by GSW.

Lakers take 3 steps forward (Russell, Beasley, Vanderbilt) then 2 steps back (Beverley, Bryant), but they did get out from under Westbrook.

The Clippers are grasping at straws, Hyland and Plumlee won't help them much.

Nuggets get Bryant, a nice pick up.  Lakers help a prime competitor, makes no sense.

As to our most direct competition, the Bucks get Crowder but give up Hill, Nwoba, Ibaka and 5 seconds.  Philly got Jalen McDaniels and 2 seconds for Thybulle.  I don't see either of those deals helping much.  We got Muscala who is not a big impact either but we are currently ahead and I don't think any team did enough to catch us.

And I do think there will be a vet wing available as a buyout for the final roster spot.

I am happy we still have Pritchard and Gallinari.  Looking at what other teams had to do for only modest improvement, I am fine with keeping both and see what happens in the off season.

If Hauser, Grant, Luke can play as well as they did last night consistently, no need to strengthen the roster.

Mostly glad that C's aren't making a big deal and parting with Derrick White.  He's been so valuable.

According to a league source, the Celtics are sending the Thunder their 2029 second-round pick and the worse of their two second-round picks this year in the Muscala deal.

Pretty solid.

So we don't have our own 2nd this year.

We DO have Houston's 2nd, which is protected 31-32. They are tanking efficiently enough that it's unlikely that pick conveys, so instead Houston would send us the worst of Miami/Dallas' 2nd.

We also will receive Portland's 2nd. We also have an Orlando 2nd protected 31-55 which will not convey.

So ultimately we are sending out the WORST of Dallas/Miami/Portland and keeping the best of Houston/Dallas/Miami/Portland.

Got it .....  (yeah, sure I do).

Basically best-case snenario we get Houston at #33 and OKC gets Portland at ~43. Worst case (and somewhat more likely) scenario we get Portland and OKC gets Miami or Dallas.

Either way good trade for us.

Is Eric Gordon any better than Luke Kennard?

I don't understanding that one. Lateral move for an older player.

Sources: A Patrick Beverley reunion in Minnesota is in the works, via the buyout market. Multiple teams are interested in Beverley for a playoff push. – via Twitter DaneMooreNBA

If that happens, nice add for MIL.  Seems like they knew this all along.  Why else dump Hill?  Tampering much?

MIN is not the same thing as MIL.

Yeah, my bad, misread that.  No concern at all if Beverley ends up in MIN.

I don't understand teams sudden interest in 2nd round picks. The only ones with any real value are early 2nds (30-40).

The rest are junk picks. The odds of getting anyone in the 40-60 range gotta be miniscule. Probably 5-10%.

The amount of 2nd round picks that changed hands is incredible - impossible to keep track of! The pick tracking sites are going to look very messy

Plumlee is a great pickup for LAC. They have had problems in the past with Zubac being their only legit center. Now they finally have a legitimate backup for him. Not just a backup but one of the best backup centers in the league. Great work.

Mo Bamba is an interesting get for the Lakers. That would give them a twin towers vibe next to Anthony Davis. Two mobile long athletic shot-blocking big men.

LeBron could be great for Mo Bamba. Bamba spends far too much time on the perimeter and popping instead of rolling off of PnR/PnP actions. Bamba could be a lethal finisher rolling to the rim. With LeBron, Bamba now finally has a passer to set him up for easy finishes ... if LeBron can direct him into rim running more often which if he could do could be great both for Mo Bamba and the LA Lakers.

High upside move for LAL.

I wonder if they will start Mo Bamba next to AD or start AD at center next to Vanderbilt at PF and bring Mo Bamba off the bench. Either way has a lot of utility for LAL.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Pacers have waived Goga Bitadze.

This action was necessary due to the Pacers' involvement in a three-team trade with the Bucks and Nets. Indiana will receive Jordan Nwora and two second-round picks, hence the need to free up a roster spot. Bitadze wasn't in the rotation most nights, so his exit will not impact fantasy basketball.
I thought Bitadze was showing some promise last season. Can pass and really protect the rim. Will be interested in seeing if anyone picks him up, or if he is another Ante Zizic.

G: D'Angelo Russell, Schroder
G: Lonnie Walker, Malik Beasley
F: LeBron, Austin Reeves, Troy Brown
F: Vanderbilt, Hachimura
C: Anthony Davis, Mo Bamba

or

G: D'Angelo Russell, Schroder
G: Lonnie Walker, Malik Beasley
F: LeBron, Austin Reeves, Troy Brown
F: Anthony Davis,  Hachimura
C: Mo Bamba, Vanderbilt

Lonnie Walker is their only plus defender on the perimeter. I expect he will continue to start. Beasley and Reeves gives them two shooters off the bench. Hachimura a combo forward. Vanderbilt a defensive forward.

It feels like LA are still lacking that shooting threat at PF/C next to AD to really open up the floor for LeBron & AD. I expect Hachimura will be asked to fill that role as best he can.

A Schroder & D'Angelo Russell backcourt is a nice backcourt to be able to turn to when LeBron rests. Keep two ball-handlers out there.

I like the energy / motor that Vanderbilt brings to the table. I'd choose that starting lineup. I think LAL needs that urgency. That anger. That fight. Spark the old guys. Young legs. Vanderbilt and Lonnie Walker.

I'd swap out Kornet for him.

I think his strengths are quite comparable to Kornet. He's younger, but shorter. Maybe something to consider in the offseason
