just curious -- for those watching the national broadcast, what could they possibly be talking about since they don't talk about the Celtics unless they're doing poorly?

This is such a false narrative. Of course national media talks about the Celtics. Doris Burke is an announcer tonight. And she raves - and I mean, RAVES - about Jaylen Brown constantly. She also hypes up Marcus Smart a lot.

We can agree to disagree. As I said, I think Felger and Mazz - the biggest local Boston sports guys - are frequently hostile about this team win or lose. They've tapped into that loud mouth, incel demographic and fans don't call it out enough. But god forbid Doris Burke compliments one of our players and then compliments a player on another team, then she's insufferable.

Her favoritism for one team or another is not what makes her insufferable.

It's her voice and her yelling into the mic. She's just awful, whoever she is complimenting.

She yells into the mic? Scal is louder. Perk is louder... I guess that women who don't whisper are yelling. The crux of the issue here is that some just think it's better for women to be seen and not heard.

And I'm not looking for a back and forth here. Just going on years worth of posts and at this point, I'm not changing my mind.

Kyrie would rather not hurt his 3 point % than take a shot and getting his team a little closer by halftime.

He's good at quitting.

That's why the Nets no longer scare me. They are a very bad defensive team, and even with a healthy Durant, I think Kyrie/Simmons will find ways to screw it up on-and-off the court

Kyrie is a ticking time-bomb. He won't be able to handle all the calm and prosperity surrounding the Nets of late.
He will self-destruct at some point, taking the team down with him. Consistent success without drama is way too boring for him.

If anything, local media is a lot more dismissive of the Celtics than national pundits.
have to disagree on the national bit -- when I've been stuck with only the national crews on TNT or ABC, they are rarely positive about the Celtics and most frequently discussing the other team.   always bugs the hell out of me.
I find this to be generally true EXCEPT for Doris and Stan Van Gundy. It seems like the other national announcers just don't know anything about the Celtics except the headlines and the game before them. Doris and Stan actually know about the team and can talk in depth.

Thank you. TP.

Sometimes I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Doris waxes poetic about Jaylen and Marcus regularly. SVG does too - he's also a big Tatum fan.

The Celtics get far more love in national media than they do in local media and it's not really even close.

have to agree on SVG.  he's the one national commentator that gives the C's a fair shake.  so much better than his brother

Props to Joe, too. He seems like he may be learning and/or adjusting from his certain extreme philosophies.

He recognized Tatum having it going in the first and left him in there appropriately, as well as going a good jobs recognizing the Nets picking up some steam halfway through the second and called the timeout. The last game against LA he was showing some of that, too.

Those are pretty big improvements for a guy who earlier in the season wasn't willing/able to make those kinds of changes or calls in the game.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I don't know who you are. I don't believe I've engaged with you very much. But other posters have a history of sexism and racism that has nothing to do with you. It's shocking, but I don't think all black women exist in a monolith, neither do I believe all white men do. But a history of posting speaks for itself.
