The Heat are also going to reportedly sign Cody Zeller.

Yeah, Miami trying to round out their big rotation with "scrap heap" pick ups.  Their big rotation is going to be:

Adebayo
Love
Zeller

That would be about the same as if all we had was:

Horford
Griffin
Kornet

Maybe not exactly comparable but I think it is close.  We wouldn't be going anywhere if that was our rotation.  I don't think adding Love and Zeller is going to be enough for MIA to elevate to a true contender.  They are going to have to play small.
Except the Miami trio are all better than that Boston trio across the board.  Love and Zeller will add some decent size to their roster.

Yeah, but we also have Timelord, Muscula and Grant Williams, whereas Miami has basically nobody.

Not to mention we have way better guards and wings. I think the heat are trapped in the dreaded middle. Lowry has cratered to being a below average starter, herro just hasn’t developed. Duncan robinson is the worst contract in nba and butler and bam just aren’t enough. Wonder what moves they make in the off-season.

Yeah, Miami's problem is their window with this core has closed. Butler and Lowry are too old and them along with Duncan Robinson tie up too much of their salary cap to build around Adebayo and Herro. Adding some cheap vet big men for the stretch run makes sense, but these are guys who other contenders didn't want and/or discarded. This isn't suddenly changing their trajectory or anything.

Sure, but I was responding to the comparison that was made, not the actual teams.

And it was also about size.  None of those guys are big.  I mean Grant is 6'6".

The Heat should get Yurtseven back any day now and their 7 foot 2W guy Robinson has actually played pretty well.  Jovic is also 6'10".  The Heat needed size and they've gotten some with Love and Zeller.  I have no idea if Zeller can still play, but I know Love can.

The Cavs, watching love practice every day and access to his medicals, thought he was not gonna make a difference for an eastern conference playoff team and had benched him. Not sure how anyone could “know” he can still play at this point. Will be interesting to see if he still has anything. Maybe his thumb has healed? But that would just be negligence on the Cavs part to buy him out as a top 4 team in east. Has anything like that happened before?

That team could use a good kick in the butt so good for them bringing him in.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo traveled to New York to undergo further testing on his injured right wrist on Monday, and the testing revealed a sprained ligament in the wrist, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Antetokounmpo will undergo treatment on the wrist and will miss some games as he deals with the issue. However ,the injury doesn't seem like one that will put his season in jeopardy, which is obviously good news for Milwaukee.

Might be pretty big still. Only 23-24 games left in the season. If MIL loses a few in the coming week while Giannis is out that helps the C’s

I also thought it was Giannis's shooting hand. Yes?

Roy have you ever seen the antonio brown interpreter twitter handle? I think you would get a kick out of it.

For the sake of disagreeing with a different poster, Moranis is revealing that some end of bench bigs for Miami are 1-2 inches taller than grant Williams, Mike Muscala and Robert Williams.

Yeah, it’s odd to me.  If Timelord isn’t a big, neither is Bam or Kevin Love.  If Muscala isn’t big, then neither is Jovic.

We get into some weird semantic debate where our only big is Luke Kornet, and Miami’s are a guy who hasn’t played a game all season, and a 2-way player who won’t be eligible for the playoffs.
