That seems really low until you realize how little MLB and NHL hopefuls make in their minor leagues.  Then that doesn't seem so bad.

Does that include room and board?

Plus, they also have health insurance and get time into the retirement system.  All things that are beneficial for a fringe NBA player.  Most guys leave the GLeague after a couple of seasons anyway, either to the NBA or Europe (where they make solid wages) or they just give up on their dreams of playing professionally.

Well it’s more than my 27 yo daughter makes and not much less than my 31 yo. So they make normal-ish money for their age - nothing wrong with that.

I don't know if all these numbers are accurate, but they match what I've seen reported elsewhere.

https://sportblurb.com/average-aaa-baseball-player-make-in-salary/

The average salary of a AAA baseball player is just 15k a year.  That is at AAA.  Single A is like 6k a year and Double A is just over 9k.  That is for the 5 months or so they are in season.

It is a ridiculously low amount of pay for the players that aren't on the major league track with the big signing bonuses.

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The minimum salary is $400 weekly at rookie level, $500 at Class A, $600 at Double-A and $700 at Triple-A. Major League Baseball says 63% of players on opening day minor league rosters this year had salaries above the minimum and players also receive health care, tuition assistance, housing, meals and per diem during the season.

Dyson Daniels really missed both FTs and allowed the Lakers to make the game-tying 3 a second try. By yours truly Matt Ryan.

It is insane that MLB parent teams don't chip in more money so that these guys can make a decent living.  Seems not only stingy but shortsighted.

I wonder how many potential late bloomers give up a little too early because they're making so little.

a lot of the real talents do get MLB money whether at signing or otherwise.  The top level prospects can get several million up front.

The NBA has fined the Clippers $25,000 for violating league injury reporting rules when the team listed Brandon Boston Jr. and Moussa Diabate as unavailable but both played on Oct. 30 vs. Pelicans.

True, but without these other player that never make it to the big league, there is no minor league to develop players.

They are professional players that are helping MLB's business model.   They deserve a living wage and decent housing.

Jokic has already passed Wilt for most career triple doubles by a center.  79.

He's already 6th all-time and only 27 years old.  :o

That's only because they didn't count blocks during Wilt and Bill's time.  They'd both have way more than that with all the blocks those two racked up.

There is a stat out there that said 112 of Wilt's 1305 games, blocks were recorded.  In those 112 games, he averaged 8.8 blocks per game.

The same data, showed that in 135 games of Bill's career he averaged 8.1 blocks per game.

here are the links.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tTIVEWsAP14/VkFK-IE7GHI/AAAAAAAAHSo/n_u04_ScpoQ/s0-Ic42/Wilt%252520blocked%252520shots.jpg

And while this game isn't on that tracked on the link on March 18, 1968, Wilt allegedly had a quintuple-double with official stats of 53 points, 32 rebounds, and 14 assists and unofficially he had 24 blocks and 11 steals.  He had several quadruple doubles as well on that sheet, and I'm sure he had more than were on the sheet.

Has the search function been eliminated? I remember there was a Miles Bridges thread, but I don’t know how to search for it. Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone?

Anyway, Bridges News:.
