I'm missing the Evan Fournier role comparison. In a perfect world, Hauser will be our version of Duncan Robinson.
I agree with this. Think he could be a bit better on defense than Robinson; so instead of a “3 and No D”, Hauser could be a “3 and slight D” player.
I like Hauser, don't get me wrong, love the improvement. But there are still limitations that are going to get exploited in real NBA games. His spot up shooting from 3 is a legit NBA weapon. No doubt. But he does not move well without the ball and currently does not shoot off the curl or off the dribble. Those skills may come but right now, they aren't there. As for his defense, I am just not sure, haven't seen enough.
Duncan Robinson is an obvious comp to consider. Robinson does shoot pretty well off the curl or even off the dribble. I see Robinson as more complete as a shooter/scorer. Hauser may be a better defender (not saying much). Not sure Hauser is ever a starter. Robinson has started around 70 games each of the last 3 seasons but then didn't play in the playoffs.
All in all, very happy to see Hauser on the roster. There is definitely still some upside there. We'll see how much.
