Just seeing this. How do we know it’s an affair? Any sources or just opinions?
Shams. Consensual relationship with a staff member that violated team policy.
The term consensual seems to be at the crux of this. Ime is the head coach. Beyond the owner/GM, what staff member could potentially be on Ime’s level or higher?
In think they're using consensual to mean not physically coerced, as opposed to being based upon power differentials. I think that the implication is that this was probably a subordinate somewhere in the organization. People are throwing out names of other members of the front office / coaching staff, but my reading is much more broad. Personal assistants, secretaries, trainers, receptionists...
I know that at the biggest organization that I worked for, "lateral" relationships were okay, so long as management was notified. If one party got promoted, then they were immediately walled off from working with the other party. Subordinate relationships were otherwise strictly forbidden. In other words, attorneys should staff far, far away from the secretaries and paralegals. It didn't matter who initiated it, it was 100% off-base.
