I was at the game yesterday with a bunch old buddies (we’re Pats fans).  It was the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen in person at a sporting event.  Total brain fart.  But they had so many chances to seal the game up before that didn’t take advantage.

At the very least the second half was entertaining.  The first half I was like “I came all the way out here for what???”.

Britney?

I was surprised that they came out so flat. Maybe we should see what they are showing us, vs. hoping that this combination of players can win playoff games?

I love the Pats and Red Sox, but I’m definitely more invested in the Celtics and Bruins near-term futures.

Just curious, if Brady decided he wants to return to the Patriots next season now that Tampa Bay sucks and he's not tied to Gisele anymore, would you guys want him back here with Belichick? Would it be worth shoving aside Mac Jones for one last attempt to relive the glory days? Or should we pass on Brady and keep rebuilding with Bill, or move on from both for good?

I’m not a Brady fan now that he’s moved on from the Patriots, but I’d love a return assuming that also means investment in protecting him and providing him with weapons on offense.  I think it would be fascinating and would breathe life and excitement back into a frustrated fan base.
That said, why in the world would Brady decide to return?

Legacy. Nothing would have a greater impact for him than getting back to the Super Bowl again with NE one last time.

And legacy in general with New England. Fair or not, there are a lot of Pats fans that are still miffed at him for 'ditching' us. If he comes back one more time - even if we barely make the playoffs - all good will will be returned and he will officially be a hero again in New England. Like he never even left for TB.

Why would Brady want to come back? It’s a worse situation than what he has in Tampa Bay. You think he’d want to leave Evans, Godwin, Jones for Meyers, Parker and Thorton. Buc’s line is in shambles without Jensen who hasn’t played at all this season and their defense is decimated with injuries. They have a lot more talent than NE does and Brady gets to play in warm weather which he prefers, in a weak division. Tom Brady is not walking through that door. It’s a pipe dream.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Those fans are wrong. Bill had moved on from Brady. They refused to pay his market rate after getting a deal for 15 years. They refused to give him weapons like Peyton had at the end of his career. Bill was picking fights with his oddball trainer and his buddy Gronk. The relationship had run its course.

That being said, I’d love Brady and 3 pro bowl WRs.

Pats offense through 15 weeks:

32nd in the red zone
30th in goal-to-go
29th on third down

I'd say we still need a QB.

I don’t think his legacy needs any improvement. There’s no one ahead of him, and I don’t think another QB will win 6 Super Bowls. Win 7 and you get to be better than Brady.

I would like to see him win one with SF.

I agree, but it apparently matters enough to Brady to leave his wife and kids so that he can keep playing to further increase his legacy.

Why would a return to NE be more of a legacy boost than anywhere else?  It seems more likely to me that he’d stay warm weather or go home to San Francisco. Mostly I think he’d want a team with weapons and a coach he wants to play for.
