Zappe was awesome but I still don't think there's a QB controversy. Guys like Schefter, Giardi, etc. even said Mac would play some and so would Zappe. It might have been planned.

I'd still expect Mac to start next week tbh.

As for this defense... UGH. Mobile QBs really are our kryptonite. Even during those years with Brady and the dynasty this was true (think Lamar, Kaepernick, Cam Newton, etc. over the years)

James Robinson traded to Jets.  Not really Patriots news, but does obviously affect them some given a division rival got better.

And what is up with RB's getting traded in the middle of prime time games.  McCaffrey on Thursday and now Robinson tonight.

When the stadium is chanting the backup’s name, there’s a controversy. There may not be one in Bill’s mind but if a large % of fans think the backup should start, there is a controversy - and I think if Zap finishes tonight strong, that’s where we are. 

And another bad possession. That’s fumble and nothing on his last 2.

I figured this would be the easier game out of the last 3 (Det, Cle, Chi) for our defense but they've looked terrible tonight. Missed tackles everywhere, DB's not turning around, and they cant seem to keep contain on Fields. They need a couple timely turnovers to even give the offense a chance to come back at this point

Think we got fool’s gold the last couple of weeks. This defense is trash and the Bears are exposing it. Injuries on defense playing a role too but overall underwhelming tonight.

The Patriots are not a good team.  Very flawed roster.

Might be the worst loss of the Belichick era to get blown out by this Bears team. No defense. No special teams. No quarterbacks. No offensive line. This team is in shambles going forward.

Garbage performance. Getting destroyed by maybe the worst team in the league. Bears average 15.5 points but have 33. A 1920s offense suddenly looks like the Chiefs. SMH

I guess we now know that NE’s “good defense” was a mirage. Really no reason to watch this team the rest of this season.
