They have Bridges and Washington as RFAs as well drafting Miller with Hayward on the books

Michael Scotto: The Hornets are strongly considering an offer sheet to Celtics restricted free agent Grant Williams, sources told @hoopshype . Williams has also received interest from the Mavericks. Charlotte is also in discussions with its restricted free agent PJ Washington on a possible deal. – via Twitter MikeAScotto

Let's flip PJ for Grant. Deal

Only a Celtics homer would think Charlotte would do that deal

Regardless of homerism or not (I think Charlotte has tired of PJ how Boston has tired of Grant), the Celtics are over the first apron and this prohibited acquiring a free agent in sign and trades.

I've argued for a long time that I think they are similar players. PJ Washington gets more opportunity because he's played for a lottery team.

I think the market will show comparative value.

Agreed. I prefer G Will personally.

PJ has more athleticism but he is more undersized at PF due to his lack of bulk (relative to G Will) and struggles more against the tougher matchups at PF. PJ isn't skilled enough to play SF full time which is where he should really be given his size and athleticism. And he is not as good of a three point shooter as Grant. That is why they have to keep pushing PJ up to PF and even sometimes to C in order to get him on the floor -- because he isn't skilled enough.

PJ does better against lesser talents at PF because they lack the size or skill to beat him up for his own lack of size. He is not a player you want to be depending on as a starting PF in a playoff series. A fine bench forward though much like G Will is.

Ya there's no real way to do that deal. Celtics can send out a player in a S&T but acquiring one is a no go.

Lol what?

The only area in which Washington is superior to Grant is scoring, and even there, it's mostly due to volume and the fact that the Hornets have far less scoring options than the Celtics. Washington's TS was 54.2 percent this past year as opposed to 60.5 percent for Grant.

Plus, Grant had a plus-5 net rating while PJ's was an ugly minus-7.5, and on a bad team, no less.

Not to mention the fact that Grant has playoff experience.

Celtics fans have this thing where they undervalue their own players more than just about any other fan group in the league.

Sounds like the Hornets will make Grant an offer sheet. We'll see what it is

Seems like this will be the third sign and trade with the hornets if they go after grant. Rozier, Hayward and grant

Some Hornets beat reporters were indicating it a few hours ago that they are strongly considering it, but also FWIW G-Will liked some comments on IG about coming to Charlotte lol, if you are interested in that kind of stuff  :P

On ESPN they also briefly touched on it and were saying that Grant has suitors in the Mavericks and Hornets, with the Hornets likely to make an offer in the coming day(s)

With the Bridges and Washington cap holds I can not see them using cap room, but this is the hornets so who knows? they probably stretch Hayward or something
