Send Hayward back to Boston in a S and T. Solves the wing offense issue

Sounds like the Hornets will make Grant an offer sheet. We'll see what it is

Probably will just be for the MLE.  They could add $1-2 million a year, however if they let Oubre and Washington walk, but then they’d probably lose out on two of the three.

every day a team signs someone else not Grant Williams is more of a chance he is back here maybe on a 1 year prove it deal to try and rebuild his value.

Can't he just accept the Qualifying offer at 8.5m??  Not sure the total but he'd get a 1 year deal and would be unrestricted next year.  Of course the C's could pull it but at 8.5m he'd be a good tradable asset.

Not exactly. If he takes the qualifying offer than any team trading for him wouldn't get his Bird rights, so it'd be harder for them to re-sign him. And because he would lose his Bird rights in a trade, he would have veto power (so essentially a no-trade clause). We'd be better off signing him to a larger deal than having him take the QO
I'm bitter.

He can, and he may.  He’s not a great tradeable asset, however, as he can veto any trade if he signs it.

Bridges just signed his QO, I think this is what Grant will do.

Perhaps the Hornets talk with Grant was posterizing in regards to their own RFAs.

Or they were using him to scare their guys into signing and this happens all the time.

Grant will have value for us if he comes back at the qualifying level.      He does not have good value at 15 million a year.

I think Celtics under 2nd apron if Grant comes back at QO. Is that correct? (assuming we keep Brogdon).

I don't believe it is.  We'd be over by multiple million after cap charges for empty roster spots + unlikely contract incentives for White and Timelord.

Bridges signing the QO increase the chance Charlotte extends an offer to Grant.  That’s cleared about $8 million in cap space relative to his cap hold.  If the Hornets let Washington walk, they have about $20 million of cap space, whereas prior to Bridges signing the QO they’d have had only close to the MLE.

Waving Washington to sign Grant to a 20 million offer sheet I would laugh at if it were any other franchise except the Hornets.

Not saying they’d sign Grant to a $20 million offer sheet.  Just saying that they’d have enough cap room to make an offer that the C’s would not match.
