Really starting to appear that Westbrook will at least start season with Lakers.

https://twitter.com/thesteinline/status/1564689460838768646?s=21&t=ITTz42NwQGRdIBUAi61wYg

He was also recently photographed working out with the Lakers young players and Lebron wrote a tweet in support of him. Should make for a real interesting year in laker land.
I'm getting the feeling that all the big names that were rumored to be moving this off-season will be on their current team's starting lineups this October. Durant, Kyrie, Westbrook, Mitchell....they will at least start the year on their current team's.

Only one I still think could be traded will be Mitchell. They seem really motivated to tank and blow up that team.

LOS ANGELES -- John Wall says he considered taking his own life during a time in the last three years when he was dealing with a torn Achilles and the deaths of family members at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wall's mother, Frances Pulley, died in December 2019 at the age of 58 after struggling with breast cancer. His grandmother died later. At the same time, Wall was dealing with rehabbing his Achilles injury.

"Darkest place I've ever been in," Wall said. "At one point in time, I thought about committing suicide. I mean, just tearing my Achilles, my mom being sick, my mom passing, my grandma passed a year later, all this in the midst of COVID and at the same time, me going to chemotherapy, me sitting by my mom taking her last breaths wearing the same clothes for three days straight laying on the couch beside her."

"We're all going through times, nobody's got it easy, but I don't think a lot of people could get through what I went through," Wall said. "And to me to get back on top where I want to be and seeing the fans still want me to play, having the support from my hometown, this important period means a lot. I went to find a therapist. A lot of people think, 'I don't need help, I can get through it at anytime,' but you've got to be true to yourself and find out what's best for you."

Wall said he has a strong support system that includes his team and the mother of his two children. His sons also motivate him.

"I'm looking at all that and I'm like, 'If I can get through this, I can get through anything in life,'" he said.

Lakers superstar LeBron James' production company tweeted, "@John Wall we got your back. Always." James then tweeted, "And I mean ALWAYS!!!!!! Don't ever question it bro!! Proud of you @JohnWall."

Wall said he's happy to have a chance to play basketball again.

"You can tell I'm kind of smiling a lot more, all those types of things," he said. "I get an opportunity to play with two great players and the sky's the limit."

I saw this interview and was impressed by wall. I will certainly be rooting for him. We didn’t have a role for him after getting brogdon but would have been cool to have his redemption story in green.

Well they traded so many of them for Carmelo that accounts for a fair amount of it.  I kept thinking Porzingis did, but he shockingly (to me) only was in NY for 3 seasons.  They just made so many trades it is pretty crazy that for nearly 25 years they didn't keep a single 1st round pick into a 2nd contract (they did draft Hardaway and were the team that gave him his 2nd contract, he just was on another team for 2 years of his rookie contract).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Charlie Ward seems like ancient history.  That offers pretty good perspective on just how long ago 1999 was.

That's insane.  The year I graduated high school.  Now I'm in my 40s and bald.

Fun times.  :P

Montrezl Harrell's felony charges were reduced to a misdemeanor, and his record will be expunged in 12 months if he complies with certain conditions.

I expect he'll sign somewhere now.  The most likely scenario is going back to Charlotte, right?

Sure, they offer him the minimum and he decides if he wants to come to Boston.  But he seems like someone who wants more playing time and/or money than we can offer.  I don’t think a title run is his priority over getting on the court.
