1 episode into the final season of Cobra Kai, not surprised, but it looks like they stretched this thing one too many seasons.

These "high school" kids are way too old. The "runt" from the last 2 seasons is now bigger than every other "kid."

The shows charm just doesn't feel like it's there any more. 15 episodes scheduled for this final season too (more than any of the previous seasons), maybe it will pick up, but not counting on it.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I?ve been watching House of the Dragon hoping it would get better at some point and it did. Well, for one episode (#4) at least. It was good, but unfortunately the next week the show went back to being bad. Sigh.

I'm enjoying it personally...I did read GRRM's Fire and Blood and they've managed to flesh out the characters a lot more in ways I didn't expect from the text (which to be fair, Fire and Blood reads like a history book and the Dance of the Dragons only takes up  a hundred or so pages of the book so the characters, of necessity, were described much like characters in any ancient history. But I think they've done a decent job, much better than how GOT ended, for sure

I do get it that there's a lot of exposition and not quite as much action, but I think they're doing it because they're trying to highlight the internecine drama of an ancient version of Succession  :police:
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

This week, I revisited an old favorite - NYPD Blue, the first season.

Such an interesting show, Kelley and Sipowitz are fascinating characters, though Kelley was sometimes depicted as this selfless saint. He receives a big inheritance sum from an old friend dying of cancer and decides to put all of it in a trust fund for college for kids he doesn't even have and doesn't look close to getting there. Then his self-righteous crusade on behalf of his on & off again girlfriend, Det. Lukaslki, wears a little thin. Andy Sipowitz is pure New York cop, though they laid on his "personal growth" a little much sometimes. Kinda missed the hard-drinking, full-bore detective he started out as.

But my opinion of the character, I admit, is a bit tarnished by the knowledge that the actor himself, David Caruso, was a first-class egomaniac.
He left the show after being denied his demand to be even more of the central character in the second season in addition to a requested salary of $100,000 per episode, a disproportionate raise and a huge amount back in the 80's. He reportedly stormed off the set at the end of his last episode.

We thought we would be.  Watched an episode a few weeks ago, intended to watch a second, but never did.  Might, might not ? it didn?t grab us.

Currently watching Vikings: Valhalla on Netflix.  Historical drama about Leif Eriksson and the Vikings competing with Christianity in Europe. Lots of beards and fighting.  I'm midway through the 3rd and last season.  I like it, not for everyone.

Yeh.  I?m trudging through that with my wife. Huge difference between this and Game of Thrones is that GOT actually gave you some moments of hope and humor.  There?s not a whole lot to root for in this one.
Yup

I did not watch the original Vikings series but plan to watch after finishing this series.  The Valhalla series takes place 100 years after the original series.

The original series is quite excellent.  I thought Valhalla was okay.

This was one of my favorite shows from back in the day. I loved Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz. And I remember being in love with Sherry Stringfield  :police:

I was more of a Hill Street Blues generation guy.  Back when Sipowitz was Buntz (and the ill fated off shoot Beverly Hills Buntz show).

NYPD made an artform out of thing veiled nudity and profanity if I remember correctly.
