Finished 6 Feet Under. Really well done. The show was so ahead of its time.

Best final scene ever?

I tried getting my wife to watch this recently.  We watched the first episode but never picked it back up.  Still.  That first episode set the tone pretty nicely.  Though I think they did away with the fake commercials pretty quickly.

Yeah, it was very good. Definitely a show where you have to watch 3-4 episodes and then you?re hooked.

Six Feet Under is a masterpiece. It's one of those rare shows that I think gets better every season.

Its also probably the most universally beloved TV series finale ever. I've actually never heard anyone say anything negative about the finale - which is crazy considering how critical people tend to be about finale and how hard it is for writers to end on such a high note.

If you weren't balling by the end of that you have no soul lol

The scene towards the end when David was sitting by Nate?s side at the hospital got me pretty good.  :-\

"Nobody Wants This" on Netflix. I was actually surprised how much I liked it. I thought it would be too much of a chick flick show - and in a way it was - but it was also really well written with some genuinely hilarious moments. I'd definitely watch a second season.

It's also good to see Adam Brody again. I feel like he fell off the face of the earth after "The OC.'

Just got thru the Vince McMahon documentary on Netflix.  For nostalgic standpoints, it certainly hits a lot of notes when it comes to the 80s & 90s stuff.  Does talk about a lot of the controversies over the years. I just felt the final episode lacking in light of everything going on with Vince now. I'm also not sure how much new stuff it really revealed.  Most stuff has been discussed ad nauseum over the years.

Entertaining but not sure how much new stuff it reveals if you've been familiar with WWE over the years.

I thought it was pretty good, but it seemed like a popcorn fart compared to what it should have been. When i heard they were doing a Vince doc i thought it was going to be a big sprawling, really in-depth epic series a la "OJ: Made In America" or "The Last Dance." Maybe we'll get something like that one day, but this definitely wasnt it.

I?m having trouble following The Penguin.  It may be that I?m not used to the genre but I?m confused by the volume of characters and to be honest also confused by the main characters themselves.  I?m fine with evil characters and with gratuitous violence, but characters who are good and evil, or entertaining and evil, need some semblance real to me to enjoyable. The level of crazy and volatility leaves me thinking that there?s no chance they?d really have survived to this point. I get that these are comic book characters brought to life but they need some sort of actual appeal to make them watchable. To this point they just annoy me.

For those who like The Penguin, what about it is good?

Are you supposed to root for Ozwald Cobblepot (The Penguin) like you rooted for Tony Soprano?  Or is there a protagonist that you root for and The Penguin is the antagonist?

At least Tony was a family man, and tried to do the right thing, even going so far as to get mental health help.  So you rooted for him in spite of the world he ruled, kind of giving him some slack because he grew up destined for it.

Shows/movies that feature bad guys, like Venom, just seem weird to me.  At least with most shows/movies about bad guys you at least had a team of nondescript good guys (i.e. the cops!) trying to catch them.

The acting and characters are entertaining, if a little exaggerated. Which makes sense in that this is a comic book adaptation. It's a bombastic mob romp, with a surprising amount of humor.

And Penguin does have a good-hearted apprentice,  who is basically the surrogate for the audience. Penguin is also shown to be a family man, and a man of some principle. The violence that erupts does so as a result of an argument over principles, actually.

Penguin is definitely no hero. But he is not a sadist either. His actions have understandable motivations. I think the show mostly works. And it's just the first season. Not bad so far.

Any chance The Batman or other DC characters will pop up?

Season finale of The Penguin was pretty great. Hopefully we get a second season.

The Penguin was fantastic. Really enjoyed it. Lots of folks in that cast deserve awards.

Landman.  It's pretty mixed for me, mostly because I'm convinced that Tyler Sheridan doesn't know how to write female characters.
