Toucher and rich said it's almost a given golden state will respond and win game 4. They very well may, but it's not like they played a bad game. Klay and Steph combined for 53 and Wiggins actually played well.

Unless refs get involved like game 2. I think it should be an even game again like game 1 or 3

The celtics have yet to show that they win an important home game. I am not expecting a win, but hoping like crazy for one!

Anyone else worried that we ground out the entire second half with Tatum and Smart basically playing offense by themselves? They shot OK and our defense was ferocious so we won, but the odds are against us when we play this type of offense.

game 4 is a must win. we cannot relinquish HCA and i do not want to be playing a game 7 out there. we need to win this in 5 or 6.  just win the home games and we win a banner. it would be real hard to beat them 3 straight if we win game 4 enabling us to close out in GS. but who knows. anything is possible.

if we can continually expose the chinks in the GS armor anything is possible. we need to be in their heads. we need them to know we will pound them into the ground and them fighting back is futile. psychological games. impose your will on them like IME said in post game presser.

LET'S GO CELTICS!

Yeah, 3-1 is WAY better than a best of three.

I agree. I just have no confidence they'll perform up to their standards. They've not done it yet in the playoffs. Game 4 is the biggest game of the Celtics season. However so was game 5 against Milwaukee and so was game 6 against Miami.

I am confident that Boston can win, I'm just not as confident they will win.

I think at some point, this team will learn to bounce back well from a win in these playoffs and play two solid games in a row.

I think this is the round it finally happens.

They didn’t play offense by themselves.  It was a team effort to let whomever Curry wound up on do the attacking.  I’m fine if they adopt that strategy again if the Warriors aren’t going to have anyone come help him out.

I agree with your assessment, but I think the main thing that the Celtics need to do is keep the pressure on.  The Celtics have a size advantage that they used beautifully last night, even though it was not the prettiest win.  They constantly hunted and attacked Curry and they crashed the offensive boards.  If they continue to do this effectively, they will put themselves in a position to win.  (Of course, they need to keep the turnovers down and continue to play great D too.)

My point is that playing smart and with aggression, using their biggest advantage, will make up for some bad habits or poorly-run offense.

The postgame comments from the Warriors complaining about the fans, wow. I expected complaints about the officiating but complaining that the fans on the road in the finals use bad language? Hahahahaha! Just imagine what they would have heard if they were actually ahead for more than a few plays during the game.

Rob at the podium said he's been struggling with pain and was taking a risk playing.
When pressed by a media member he backtracked and said it was pain tolerance and he's not at risk.

Either way a heroic effort.

He also said getting on the bike and loosening up earlier helped.

What type of medical risk would he be referring to ?
Playing on a not-completely-healed meniscus ?

Is there a medical person on the board tonite who could offer some insight into this ?
I had meniscus surgery and it was a quick heal, though I wasn't playing in the NBA finals at the time.
Where would that pain be coming from if the tissue was cleaned up ?
(which is what meniscus surgery is, it is not putting back together torn tissue like a ligament)

During the Bucks series, Rob suffered a bone bruise on the same knee that he had his meniscus surgery. Luckily, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the meniscus, but he has been managing pain since the injury, which is why we haven't seen peak Rob all playoffs...until last night that is. Apparently there is some risk of re-injury with this sort of thing, but I don't know that the Cs would be sacrificing Rob's career for this run - so I do think it is mostly about pain. Hopefully he'll be able to go tomorrow.

It's one thing I respect about Kobe:  I can't imagine him criticizing an opposing crowd for being too tough.  I have my own views on heckling and the like, but players need to accept that it comes with the territory.  So long as it's not physical and it's not racist, players need to play through that.

The only thing green can do to raise his game is to goon it up more. And hopefully the nba has gotten the memo on his antics.

Again, the Celtics won by 16 despite curry, Klay and Wiggins have really good games…

For all the talk about whether Klay can go off a game here or there, I think what is clear is that he's cashed on the defensive end. Definitely not the same guy as 5 years ago and the C's are abusing him, particularly Jaylen. Curry is decent on that end but not last night. They are really asking a lot from guys like Wiggins, Looney and Draymond on the defensive end.

ALL the foul language just shows how much society in general has degenerated.

GS is tough to beat when Klay and Curry both shoot as good as they did last night. The fact the Celtics still beat them by 16 with Klay coming to life his big IMO. It shows they can take GS absolute best and still beat them. If the Celtics protect the ball and limit the turnovers like they did in the 4th quarter they will be champs. Limit the turnovers, play your defense and banner 18!
