Chinanu Onuaku is enjoying a breakout season on every level. After beating local powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli league, he was named MVP of the season and he has already a date with the Celtics. The Cavs are interested in him, but the Bnei Herzliya star center is expected in Boston for a workout at the end of June. – via EuroHoops.net

The next Al Horford?

I see he was drafted in 2016.  I admit that I don't remember him at all.  Is he a FA?  Can he go where he wants or does someone hold his NBA rights?

I mostly remember him for his underhand free throws in summer league in probably 2017 or 2018.

I remember a guy shooting the underhanded free throws in summer league and remember thinking " Why don't more guys do that?"

he played for the Cs during summer league in the past. I would like to see the Celtics add a more playable big behind Rob/Al/Thies for next season. Love Green Kornet but he doesn't fit the teams style of play.

Is this hope here that he's been kind of humbled going having to go overseas and has turned things around?

If so, he's got good size and the Celtics could use that on the bench.

I also think this Finals run is going to help the Celtics a lot with free agency. That, along with the TPE, means there will be lots of ways to fortify this team over the summer.

I'd be absolutely down. I think he suits the teams identity a lot more than someone like Kornet
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

He looks really promising!

I’m glad the new Celtics coaching staff haven’t closed themselves off to Ainge’s established European scouting network.

Shavon Shields is someone I’d love the Celtics to bring over from Italy. He’s the son of NFL Hall-of-Famer, Will Shields.

5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

Is he any better at basketball than the Dancing Bear? He’s only a year younger than Yabusele. A thick big with nimble feet and less than ideal height?

Good to see the Celtics are pretty active for the postseason even while focused on the Finals

Apparently he is a great passer for his size. Maybe a possible Theis replacement. Cs have had some pretty good luck with grabbing FA players out of Europe (Theis, Wanamaker, Larkin).
