Iso Joe could also get a ring this year (played for the NBA for 17 seasons, ringless) for playing with the Celtics earlier this season.

Wow!

I don't think The Warriors played one team as good as The Nets, Bucks or Heat yet so they have yet to be tested. The Warriors played depleted Nuggets, Young Depleted Grizz, and one-note Mavs.

TP.

Cs in 6. Cs defense will be there. TOs will be key offensively.

I would love for Joe to get a ring. He deserves it.

It's worth noting that Golden State was the second worst team in terms of turning it over in the whole league throughout the season. Of teams that progressed beyond the first round of the playoffs they are the worst in that regard too (we are the second worst in that category).

Two turnover prone teams

Id Rob returns at near 100% it is 4-2 C’s

Anyhow i have us as winners

They cannot defend us while we are the best d in the world

Also, we had their number with a far inferior roster.

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

I see alot of people saying the Celtics don't have a chance. I think we match up pretty well with golden state. We always have played them tough. It will be interesting because Celtics are bigger and more physical and golden state really isn't that physical but are great offensively

It's going to come down to how does our defense do against their 3  point barrage.

I do think though it will be easier for Tatum/brown to score.

Seeing how good we are on the road, how well we matchup with Golden State - and how our guys are really confident that they own the "blueprint" to beat them as they have been for years -, and how much pressure has been relieved off the team now that they have finally made it to the Finals and over the ECF hump, I'm predicting Celtics in six.

On the flipside you could say that Golden State will beat us with a barrage of 3's, that their bench players will make the difference, etc. Sure, it can happen as well. But I really think the tough road the Celtics had to take to get there as opposed to the "easy" path Golden State had will make us more prepared (assuming we're doing OK health-wise) and ready to respond in tough situations.

And I just hope the Celtics will finally start protecting homecourt as they should, otherwise we're of course bound to lose at this stage.

Think our bench may be our downfall if one of the starters get into foul trouble or hurt
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

We are only playing a 7 man rotation which is crazy. BUT prichard and Theis haven't really gotten any run. They probably could against the warriors.

Hmmm...Ii don't know about that, anymore.  We just saw a 7-game series in which the road team tended to win.  I don't know if HCA is real.

Reading a WEEI article this morning about the owner's smart decision to kick Stevens upstairs and retire Danny.

What they don't mention is the principal reason, at least the way I see it, was that they owed Stevens a ton of money they had to eat,
and they probably felt they needed a younger coach more intune with the young players.
Indeed, that young coach has been successful though the team still lapses into old bad habits, as we saw in the Miami series.
Still not completely disciplined, but getting there.

I doubt the owners had any inkling of how successful Stevens would be as GM, especially trading and picking the new coach (?).
Those trades for Horford and White were key to the season so far. They gave the Celtics the 8 player depth Red always said was necessary to win a championship.
And the coach (I can't ever get his name right, but we will when he is named coach of the year) was just what the doctor ordered-- a Pop/Auerbach disciple.

Yes to the first bolded point. This was patently obvious to me and many others at the time. When Wyc spoke at the press conference and used the word "promoted" it didn't seem sincere.

To the 2nd bolded point, not sure I agree. Wyc and Steve P care very much about integrity and BBIQ. They might not have predicted the Horford more or the Richardson move, but I'm pretty sure they knew they had a competent basketball mind in the GM role.

When 45-year-old Brad Stevens is too old, so you bring in 44-year-old Ime Udoka.  ;)

Though I know what you're saying (and you say it in the 2nd half of your sentence).

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I'm skeptical as well but my rational explanation to their struggles at home is that the expectations from the home crowd (i.e "clinch your ticket to the Finals in front of your fans after years of failure in the ECF") would often make them play with too much nerve. So my hope is that with that monkey off their backs and the huge boost from the crowd with a Finals atmosphere will only make them play much better at home - that and the now well-learned lesson that you can't give HCA like that.

Celtics in 6 with multiple double digit wins and a few close losses.
