I'm guessing between the layoff for the Warriors and the substantial uptick in physicality that they'll experience playing Boston after their last few series that we'll steal game one. Just have to come out hungry and physical as always.

Celtics in 7. Best Finals series since Leonard's Raptors.

Celtics usually handle the Warriors as good as any team.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

this'll likely get me booted from here but went GSW in 6.
- C's are too inconsistent to rely on any of them performing well from game to game.  quarter to quarter in the same game for that matter
- C's have not shown the ability to buckle down and play hard and/or smart from the start of every game.
- C's have not shown that they can reliably win at home in the playoffs.
- C's role players are way too inconsistent from game to game and seem to only muster one good game a series if that much.
- if the C's lapse on D, GSW is the team that can and will make them pay dearly with all the offensive firepower they have.
- even though the C's are the bigger team, their bigs aren't producing much.  Al has been solid except for his shooting, TL seems to be missing in action when he plays and Grant is playing almost as badly as he did last season.  Theis hasn't shown much in the playoffs when he's gotten minutes either - though I do think if there's one team he could be useful against it's GSW.

in the C's favor, when they're dialed in on D, I think they can stifle the Warriors for the most part unless Steph starts hitting bombs from 40 feet out.  I also don't think GSW can defend Tatum or Brown if their shot is on.  also in their favor is that the C's have shown they can not only win on the road in the playoffs but they have won every time their back is against the wall.

most important thing, since I'm almost always wrong on prediction, me picking GSW almost guarantees the C's take the title

Warriors just dismantled a Dallas team that had a better record than Boston in 2022, came back from 0-2 against the only other team with a better 2022 record than Boston in Phoenix, and was the only team to outright beat the full strength Celtics during their hottest streak outside of a back to back situation.

I am not sure how good this Warriors team really is.  I want to think Celtics beat the 3 best teams in playoffs to get to finals but did we really?   I like how we match with GS on paper but they have 4 guys who can score 30 on a given night and we have 2.  They also were the best defensive team in NBA until Green got hurt and Cs took over.

Game 1 will tell us a lot.

Celtics in 7!

7-2 in road playoff games, no consecutive losses, eliminating teams led by Giannis, KD, and Butler, Game 6 at Milwaukee, Game 5 and 7 at Miami. Aside from the story arc, this team has demonstrated that it is one of the most resilient of this generation.

People have told me that the 7-3 record in the last ten games against GSW isn’t relevant. The relevance is that the systems and core players of each team have been there for years.

On defense, GSW has a similar switching system, which the Cavs exploited in 2016 and we will too with a more versatile team (where all 5 players can attack their guards).  On offense, GSW’s main weakness was having to play isolation offense, which the Cavs exploited in the 2016 series and we will too with a better defensive team.

KD solved their isolation issue and he isn’t there anymore. That issue will reappear as they settle for long range shots with no legs and the longer the series goes, the more evident it’ll become. It wasn’t a fluke that the Warriors couldn’t score by the end of the series, the Cavs wore them down and we will too.

C’s in 7!

He really points to our inconsistency as being linked to Smart's inconsistency and I agree. He also points to Ime needing to be better. I agree with that too.

I agree with both of these points, though I wonder what the narrative would be if Marcus hit one/two of those shots. Obv he didn’t so this is what people are talking about.

Re: Ime, I agree. I think he’s been great overall, and he’s def had some late game gaffes. We’re lucky we have him, and we’re lucky we got through two tough teams (and one very soft team).

I don’t think GS (save Wiggins and Kuminga) has the perimeter defense that Miami did. Therefore, I think they can trust JB to handle the ball a little bit more in the late game.
