How did we not shave any points off the lead in the 3rd? One of the most inexplicable things I've ever seen

We did and cut it to 9, but then for some odd reason they decided to go back to hoisting a few long 3s and then trying to get cute with the ball.

Jaylen for some odd reason decided to go at 3 Miami defenders (including Bam) AND do a spin move and predictably it ended in a jump ball but probably should have easily been a turnover. Like HUH???

I mean, if that's not considered a TO, then it should be. You win the jump ball - no TO; you lose the jump ball - TO.

There were a lot of great things from Jaylen tonight, but he showed Luke Kornet level handle out there and it cost us the game. He is a leader and an All-Star level player on this team - because of all of his TOs, his points essentially equated to empty stats.

Jaylen and Marcus were the only two reasons we were even close at the end.  None of Jaylen's 40 points were empty tonight.  So at worst you take away an IMAGINARY 14 points that might have happened from the turnovers and he is still our leading scorer.  Yeah Jaylen's handle was bad tonight, but his taking it to the hoop and shooting brought us back big time.  We just crapped the bed with the comeback after cutting it to 1.  Tatum was the player that shouldn't even have gone back in the game.  Brown didn't lose us the game tonight, he was the only reason we had a CHANCE in the 4th.

Not sure this team is ready yet

Agreed they should easily beat the heat in a series but the pressure of a finals birth somehow gives the heat the advantage

Pritchard with 4 assists and 0 turnovers but only played 13 minutes.

We need a bigger rotation. Our guys are gassed!

Boston is the worst starting the game team. Multiple games this playoffs they get down double digits.

Come out the gates ready for once.

Winnable game - unfortunately with that many TO's and Tatum having such a bad night, you're probably losing 9 times out of 10 to a top team. The good news....no way the Heat play that kind of defense 2 games in a row.  C's get Game 4 fairly easily and this series is likely going 7.

What I really didn't like though was they got nothing from Derrick White. He needs to contribute something...anything. He's not really doing anything except passing off around the perimeter.

Yeah White's only had like 2 great postseason games this whole run. Sad part is, he also looks scared to shoot. Every time he caught the ball today and was dribbling you never got the sense he wanted to take a shot or even try to drive inside. He was just frantically searching for a guy to pass to
And the problem is they're taking advantage of PP's defense. Would be nice if White could help out a bit.

yup, can't go 0-2 with no points and 1 assist.  made some nice defensive plays but he's cannot be an absolute zilch on offense.  we gave up 3 players that could have provided offense and he needs to pick up that slack

I swear these guys sit around watching pregame every game day. Whenever Stephen A Smith and the rest of those clowns praise Boston they get all big headed and come out like they can just show up and win, and proceed to put up complete stinkers. Just terrible effort on these losses the past 2 rounds.

Yeah, I was cringing all day seeing basically all the media calling it for Boston. The series obviously isn't over, but a couple more games where Miami's shots are falling and we are going to look back on what a missed opportunity this year was (just like the bubble). We are young and have a bright future, but it is hard to make it to the Finals. And blowing our last 4 chances with several of the same core pieces is like Buffalo Bills style.

Not sure this team is ready yet

That may be the ultimate problem. We can only hope these are growing pains.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

The Warriors and Mavs must be ecstatic right now.

The Mavs are down 0-2 so I don't know how ecstatic they can be at the moment but the Warriors I'm sure are already sizing up their rings.

Until the Mavs actually win a game from GS, they are cannon fodder.

Oh, don't say anything negative about White or the Buffalo brigade will come out to blast you for you lack of basketball knowledge. Great, the guy doesn't force passes or shots, but that is because he isn't skilled or explosive enough - at least he realizes he sucks. Frankly, I was happy he missed last game and I'm sure Miami was psyched he was back tonight. And, no, his defense has not been great either.

There's a tendency among the media and talking heads (and us fans) to overreact to the most recent game. You can call it a missed opportunity (based on what's happend so far) but the Heat are also exposing the C's weaknesses. They could use a little more beef vs these guys. Adebayo is once again wrecking them as he did in the bubble.

Sure, they're in a bad spot.  But if Miami beats us the Finals are a lock for the west, just like 2018
