Durant not offering much respect for the C's in the press conference.  even Kyrie was more complimentary

Something has seemed off about KD lately. Idk, but like you don't get that killer instinct from him. Obviously the C's defense has been ferocious but when you hear all his press conferences, his play on the court, etc. it's almost like it's a combination of being frustrated by the C's defense but also knowing the Nets as a whole probably aren't constructed to go deep in the playoffs.

Like Kyrie went off last game and they still lost, and then today Kyrie puts up 13 points on 4-13 shooting.

Or he's finally had enough of Kyrie

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

I've said this before, I wouldn't be shocked if we found out that everyone not named Durant actually hated Kyrie in the locker room. Harden literally requested a trade because of Kyrie (and his vaxx status was a part of the equation too). The thing is, Harden has the star status to demand a trade and get one, but it's not like the rest of the Nets role players probably have that same ability (especially the few who were signed from buyout market or are old veterans just ring-chasing).

It's awesome to see how the game unfolded especially when like 3.5 hours ago, the C's were down 17 and looking like garbage. Bruce Brown's 9-0 run to start the whole game feels like ages ago too

Is he being sour about the defense and complaining about the fouls?

So apparently Kyrie went into the Locker room in the 2nd quarter to eat/drink, since he’d been fasting until sundown. I don’t know how you can play in an NBA game without having any liquids for nearly 24hrs. C’s better be ready on Saturday, Nets backs are against the wall.

Pretty sure Jaylen has also been fasting (or was).

It's definitely not easy. I don't celebrate Ramadan, but I have fasted before for Hindu religion (just by choice with family) and especially not being able to drink anything for a long period of time starts to get to you after even just 12 hours (and especially if the weather is hot; if the weather is cold it's not as bad)

I've done fasting when I was younger as part of a Christian upbringing, and I intermittently fast every day now as part of my weight management program. My understanding with religious fasting with how we did it was that it was food only, not necessarily liquid/water.

Is it different in Hinduism and for Ramadan? Granted, our fasts were for full days at a time, not just during the day. So maybe that was the difference, as you obviously can't go days at a time without liquids.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but does anyone fear the Bucks , Heat or Sixers after what we've seen from those teams so far in the first round, especially if we have Timelord back?
no.  only team 2 playoff teams that I think would be a challenge are the Bucks in the East and GSW in the West.

doesn't like the physical play and that, in his words, he's being held.

Yeah basically it’s no food/liquids from, essentially, first light until last light. It’s tough, I’ve done it a few times with my wife. But those who practice and fast all month seem to get used to it.

That's cool!

So I can't say I'm an expert on all the different types of fasting and for which religions/cultures, but for Hinduism it's typically you can eat/drink a ton before sunrise which is what people tend to do (wake up early to do this), then fast during the day (no liquid/food) and then you break your fast either at sunset OR midnight depending on the occasion.

My mom and other relatives of mine in India (typically females) partake in fasts for religious occasions and festivals and do this. Males typically don't but they can, though there is one occasion where the husband and wife both have to fast but that can be optional too (again, it's kinda complex since in India there's like TONS of dialects, gods/goddesses people follow, etc.)

There are people who do this regularly though so they are used to it. Some people also "cheat" in secret but I mean, whatever, their choice and no one's watching I guess.

I've fasted 3 times in my life as I just wanted to try it. I didn't have to do it but was just curious. I did it once while in India and that was the one that I felt was difficult. But also, it was like 101 degrees that day lol. I also chose to sleep in so I woke up feeling hungry too. I broke the fast at sunset and just chugged a soda lol. The other times I've done it here, it was fine for me.

But also look at it this way, Jaylen and Kyrie are doing this while ALSO playing 40+ minutes in playoff games, which is insane to me.

Celtics starters series averages through 2:

➼ Jayson Tatum: 25/5/9
➼ Jaylen Brown: 22.5/4.5/5
➼ Marcus Smart: 16/4/5.5
➼ Al Horford: 18/10.5/2
➼ Daniel Theis: 9.5/6/1

What stands out the most?

Good question. Al's stat line has I think, but Tatum's 9 dimes are another candidate.

It's pretty obvious that after Kyrie + KD, the Nets just don't have the firepower. The Nets need BOTH Kyrie + KD to put up like 30+ each to have a chance, and tonight with Kyrie putting up 13 that was a moot point. The Nets did nearly comeback and win in Game 1 with Kyrie going off (with 39) and KD also putting up 23 (not the usual KD number, but pretty good nonetheless)
To be fair dragic has been pretty good third weapon the first couple games. Don’t know if that will continue though.

Yeah Dragic and Bruce Brown (ugh) have been very solid for them. But do the Nets role players really do much besides scoring from time to time? I don't really think they impact the game in a lot of ways like say, Horford does and others on the C's.
m
I think brown is a pretty good defensive player and is also pretty good at cutting to the basket (and not terrible on the boards either). Dragic is a good passer also, but doesn’t really do anything else.

Nah he obviously wanted 25  ::)

Same thing with guys like Embiid + Harden. Even when those guys shoot terribly they'll still end up with 25 points because they'll get to the line like 20 times

I just wish the refs would respect a C's player like Tatum more often. Could you imagine if they actually called fouls on all those times Tatum or Brown or Smart get mugged while driving. Tatum with 15+ FTA per game could set a scoring record lol
