Since there was already a "big 3", out of respect for them we should name these new celtic core 3  superstars should have a different nickname, a nickname of their own is best for them and for the big 3. Which one is the best?

They should be called "The Three Stooges" since all three of them have spent their whole careers being paid by crummy teams to play in pointless games (essentially making them "stooges" of those teams).  Book it.
Boston sports and malt liquor, pair goes together better than PB&J as far as I'm concerned

I definitely didn't come up with this, and I can't remember where I read it or I would credit the author...

"The PGA Tour"

I like it a lot. And it doesn't even need to speak to their playing style or their greatness yet. All it means is that people across the country (and Europe) will come out of the woodwork to see these three guys play together. And they're taking the show on the road. Coming to an arena near you...

"Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder."

Triple Threat is by far the best suggestion here.

I cannot call them the "Big Three." There's too many memories, too much history, and no disrespect to PP, KG, and RA, but they haven't won anything yet. Most of my time growing up was focused on the real "Big Three." I will not sully my memories.  I think we should call them "The Trifecta." If someone has something better please post it but for now, I haven't heard anything better.

Just an aside, but they called the Big Three the Big Three at least in part because they were, in fact big (6'9, 6'10,7'0). The current group doesn't match up in that respect either.

As someone already familiar with having a "Triple" nickname, I consider this to be the best and most appropriate nickname of those already suggested, and I offer the following:

The Trinity

Trin·i·ty      /ˈtrɪnɪti/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[trin-i-tee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun
1. Also called Blessed Trinity, Holy Trinity. the union of three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) in one Godhead, or the threefold personality of the one Divine Being.
2. a union of three divine persons
3. (lowercase) a group of three; triad.
4. (lowercase) the state of being threefold or triple.

Some might quibble with the religious connotation, but isn't being a Celtics fan somewhat of a religion? This nichname works on a lot of levels.  A Trinity is a union of three divine persons, and isn't the joining of Jesus Shuttlesworth, KG and The Truth the basketball equilivant?

And isn't this truly "a group of three?" No offense to the rest of the roster, but the Trinity is the whole show here in Boston.  And finally the way these three guys have bonded is certainly "the state of being Threefold or triple."

I personally think since there are 5 players on the floor that actually have to be stopped so we should call them " The Starting Five " !!!

If you really wanna get technical with it its not only the big three that will be making the big shots down the stretch. Most likely House, Posey, Rondo,(Scal's ?) will even get the dish out at the end. So why not call them " The Superfriends ", or we could become the bad guys like Detroit was and become " The Legion Of Doom " !!!
Lets Get It !!!

Well, since the Rockies didn't exactly do a great job in the world series, I think we could use this: Destinys Darling. But I think we should only use it if they make a good playoff run, it's just the start of the season.

  • The good ole days.
I like 4.0

think GPA (Grade Point Average... or, Garnett, Pierce, Allen)... 4.0 is straight A's, something this team has the potential to earn in terms of grades.
