Since there was already a "big 3", out of respect for them we should name these new celtic core 3  superstars should have a different nickname, a nickname of their own is best for them and for the big 3. Which one is the best?

Because I´m egocentric, I´ll post my nick for them again:

Huey, Dewey and Louie...

additionally, we would have Danny Duck and Scrooge McDoc   ;D
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I like the "Boston Three Party" name from the ESPN comercial. Its just something that needs to develop and there it was it clicks it funny and its unique to Boston unlike trinity, triple treat, troika, and the others.

if I remember correctly wasn't "boston 3 party" the nickname of the 2002 Celtics in the playoffs. with the team shooting over 30 3's a game.

The holy trinity?

Is that too much?
People always say to me, "when you get to the NBA, don't forget about me." Well, I should've said back, "if I don't make it to the NBA, don't you forget about me."

- "We Three Kings"....the presence of the Sacramento team ruins that one, but someone in Northern California should file it away for some day after a few drafts pan out.

- "Three Times Dope"... could be used against them

- "Worst To First"... Memphis was actually worse last year.

- "Put Us In A Bad Spike Lee Film, Stab Us Nine Times, Make Us Play A Winter Sport In Minnesota For A Decade... We're Eventually Going To Come Together And Run The NBA Like A Savvy Pimp"...might be a bit lengthy

- "The Threesome!"...my personal favorite at the moment... "Menage a Trois" being more likely to offend.

- Rajon Rondo may lobby for "The Foursome," "The Four Horsemen," "FourPlay," etc...

- "Kendrick's Still Growing"... puts a lotofpressure on a kid,but would be an effective tshirt thru 2020 if Ken-Brick works out into a Dale Davis type player.

- If KG had still demurred on coming to the Bean after the Wally trade, we would have been left with "RayPaul"

I think these are all terrible nicknames. Besides a team isn't just three guys, This team wouldn't be a team without the bench (House, Posey, Big Baby, Tony Allen, Pollard, and Scal. Why don't we just stick with the Original name.................THE BOSTON CELTICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doc is an ambulatory vegetable. This team should be running an offense which is run by Rondo. He should be seeing a lot of picks, and GPA should be getting themselves open. This is a joke.

Wrong thread?  "Ambulatory vegetable" is a kinda awkward nickname for Doc, even if I agree with you.

I realize that this thread has largely been a grounds for naming what some SC anchor (SVP, maybe?  can't remember the commercial offhand) dubbed the Boston Three Party, but given the title of the thread and the fact that I haven't seen a better place to push this idea, this seems like the place to keep pushing my two favorite "third jersey" nicknames for Big Baby Davis: the Pugnacious Papoose and the Infuriated Infant.

Of course, he's got the best nickname on the team as is (besides, perhaps "The Truth"), but hey, if the C's can wear green jerseys with black trim even though their original road unis are great, why not have some alternates for Baby, too?

Just putting it out there.  I've been boosting Pugnacious Papoose since the draft, and I'm still looking to gain some popular support for it.

Steve, I think the only problem with the Pugnacious Papoose is that 99% of basketball fans (including myself) have no idea what either word means alone, or in conjunction.  I assume pugnacious, ans in "pug-" or 'rotund' and papoose as in 'caboose' or 'posterior,' but really I have no clue.

Bah!  That's something I didn't think of; thanks for pointing it out, Big Ticket.  Since you seemed to be intimating that you were interested in the definitions (it's not meant as condescension), "pugnacious" is "aggressively quarrelsome," and a papoose is a baby.  I realize, of course, that Glen's nickname of Big Baby refers to his size and appearance rather than the fact that he actually behaves like someone that would be labeled a "big baby," but nonetheless, I figured Pugnacious Papoose (clearly more along the lines of the latter conception of 'big baby') could be catchy enough to work.

The moral of the story?  I need a hobby.

But thanks as always for taking the time to respond.

Any love for Infuriated Infant?

I am partial to "The Trinity," but maybe I should wait until after they win a championship to name them that.

TP for you! That's a great name.  KG=The Father  PP=The Son  Ray=The Holy Spirit.
