So how do you all feel about facing the Heat? I really like how the C’s matchup. They have some players that are a liability on defense and Bam is an undersized center. C’s in 6.

Also, I missed this during the game. Absolutely hilarious by Grant

Unlike this previous series (with Giannis), I truly think the C's have the best player in the series in Tatum. Butler's fantastic of course, but Tatum's better. Miami though is also a team that has great depth and other good players surrounding Butler so there might not be many mismatches to exploit.

I also hope Timelord can come back at some point. He'll definitely help against Bam

Jimmy Butler is a hell of a player, but he’s not a superstar. Lowry is a shell of himself and injured. Herro and Duncan are both defensive liabilities that can be exploited. Bigs are similar sized to the C’s. So you put Jimmy on Tatum, who is covering Jaylen? Guess PJ. Good luck with that…  Tatum is clearly the best player in the series, but is Jaylen better than Jimmy Butler at this point or are they a push?

I also think this time around, having Horford and (hopefully) Timelord will help us big time. IIRC in 2020, G-Will was just a rookie and all we had were basically Theis and Kanter. Horford wasn't here. Timelord was basically an end-of-bench guy too so Bam pretty much abused us

Butler is definitely superior. Much better playmaker, and can force himself to score through generating lots of fouls

We need Timelord against the Heat. I'm glad we've been careful with him through the Bucks series.

They only have 1 big in Bam.

Once Rob Williams returns, BOS has a big advantage with their big men with both Rob & Horford against Bam.

Dedmon is their next big. Theis is better than Dedmon. Nevermind Rob Williams.

Thankfully the C's have plenty of experience dealing with that after playing Giannis

This time we don't have Kemba Walker anymore who was a big liability that led to the Heat exploiting him. And they lost Olynyk and other key guys.

I like our chances. Just hope we can finally get over the hump of Spo's Heat killing us in the playoffs. I haven't forgotten about the LeBron Heat. Gonna be another classic, but still hate them.

Yeah, Butler is better than Brown.  I'd put Tatum over Butler, though.

But, it won't be individual matchups.  It will come down to team defense and shooting, just like the past two series.

Once Rob Williams returns, BOS has a big advantage with their big men with both Rob & Horford against Bam.

Dedmon is their next big. Theis is better than Dedmon. Nevermind Rob Williams.

It is not just their lack of size at center but also their lack of size on the perimeter.

They are small at forward. Jimmy Butler is the next biggest player next to Bam at 6-7 with short arms. PJ Tucker at 6-5 240lbs is their other forward. The rest of their perimeter players are guards. Herro is an undersized SG. Lowry is a small PG.

They have little size & length on the perimeter to help Bam in the paint. Bam is all alone on that team. Ready to be exploited.

Celtics with Jaylen and Tatum are too big for them on the wing. Jaylen is about the same size at Jimmy. They have nobody Tatum's size. G Will is similar to PJ Tucker. BOS two main guards in Smart and D White are both big PGs / combo guards.

BOS size on the perimeter will show up on the perimeter defense in BOS favour. They will be better able to shrink the floor, play the passing lanes and create turnovers. It is less about the offensive advantage but the defensive advantage. And defense leading to easy offense that way.

MIA is overmatched. This is not a strong Heat team outside of their 4 main guys. Bam has no help in the paint. They lack size at forward and on the wing. BOS is a really bad matchup for MIA.

Having Al Horford this time around is also going to make a huge difference. We really missed him in that bubble series against the Heat.

Yeah that was the difference in the series last time. We really got hurt inside. I think we have the advantage there this time around.

I will just say even despite his age, Tucker probably a better matchup for grant Williams than the bucks bigs (outside of Gianni’s). He is still somehow good at guarding on the perimeter. Also in case people haven’t been following, the heat don’t really play duncan any more. Strus has become a bigger shooter.

I like that we make the Eastern Conference Finals like almost every other year  ;D

2017, 2018, 2020, 2022. But yes, ECF appearances is still not enough. We need the big dance. Let's get the W here!

If they want to put Tucker on Grant instead of one of the Jays I'm more than happy to do that. Especially as Grant will probably be relegated to the bench if Timelord is healthy
