I want to see games every other day.  I don't like this long break between games.

I do. Especially with multiple Celtics starters banged up

Agreed.  We're not going to be able to consistently win games without Marcus.

Yep, for entertainment purposes I wish they were playing tonight. But Jaylen and Marcus need some time to heal and Al can benefit from a break so he can keep moving like he's 25.

Smart questionable for game 2 with thigh contusion

This sucks. And it stinks.
I'm not too concerned about that assessment with a couple of days to go until game time. He could still be upgraded.

He's likely to play in Game 3.  Smart called his availability a "strong likelihood".

That is good to hear.  Boy, did the Bucks miss a golden opportunity to go up 2-0 when we were without Smart.  The extended rest favors us due to giving Smart and Brown time but also they have to think about a bad loss/missed opportunity during this break while we get to relish in a good win.  From a mojo standpoint, I think that favors us.  They must be having some questions creep into their heads, I would think.

All we need really is one of these games.  I think there is more pressure on them.

Right now the Bucks have home court advantage. Pressure should typically still be on the Celtics. But the Bucks do have to worry about our 3pt shooting and the return of Smart. Hoping to see us take Game 3 between these two games

I would say that there's as much pressure on the Bucks to win Game 3 as there was on the Celtics to win Game 2.  However, like the Bucks in Boston, the Celtics really only need a split in Milwaukee.

I'm encouraged that the defense has been very good in the first two games and that seems sustainable.

I'm also encouraged that I think the offense has looked bad in 3 of the 4 halfs of this series. If they can find something from the first half of game 2 that is replicable going forward, they'll be in good shape.

No, having Jaylen make everything from 3 won't be that thing, but I do think there was more attacking and movement going on that they can do more of going forward.

Some of the passing in the first half was the best passing I've seen in many years from the C's, and even maybe from any team.
It was really exciting to see.

1985–86 Boston Celtics were the best passing team I ever saw.

This has been a really interesting series so far. I feel like the Bucks by pressing Marcus with Jrue and making him struggle to get the offense going quickly they turned him into a shooting guard again which isn’t a plus for the Celtics. I thought that was very clever.
I saw that as the biggest problem. We could get a decent quick deep look off the first pass but after that the Bucks did a great job of making that secondary pass extremely difficult.
I thought Ime responded well attacking  the middle/ close outs.
I can’t believe some media types are saying don’t bother attacking the rim . I know what the analytics say and what the Bucks like giving up but give me a break. I’m sure the Celts heard that.

I have no idea what to make of our chances.  Overall, I like them, based upon how we've played since January or so.  But, what did we learn in Game 1 or Game 2?  Not a ton, other than that in any given game we can look amazing or horrible.

This man's more eloquent about basketball than I could ever be.

He's a huge fan of the Celtics' current chances, especially considering this podcast only covers other teams during the playoffs - as it's normally a Lakers podcast. Go figure.

Anyway, he explains really well why we're the better team.

TP, appreciate the video.

I have two concerns:

1) I disagree with the video that we don't need to be able to score inside. We do. No guarantee that we're going to shoot 50% from the 3-point line for the rest of the series, so we need to be able to score from somewhere else. I'm hoping that Game 1 was simply rust.

2) The refs are a disaster. I try not to complain about them too much, since it's usually a "complaint of last resort," but they really have been awful. Letting them play is one thing. Letting Giannis run over anyone he wants is another. Might as well just give him a suit of armor and one of those lances that jousters use. In Boston, the refs at least were fighting the home crowd. In Milwaukee, they'll be able to get away with whatever.

It's gotta be Jaylen and Jayson from mid-range, as someone suggested earlier in this or some other thread.

Cos you can't keep challenging 2 7 footers plus the 6'10 Portis at the rim.

Honestly, I think the only way we lose this series is if the refs interfere.

And I'm going to cancel my league pass subscription after this series. Gonna take another long hiatus, regardless of the result.

Seen enough of this ref nonsense that it's diminished the fun I'm having to the point that it's not worth the hundreds of dollars I'm paying for the product.
