Barring injury reports i'm not concerned. The Bucks interior defense is obviously impressive but simply put our shots weren't falling yesterday.
I'd love to see them dare us to take that many 3's again, it'll come back to bite them. Our ball movement around the perimeter will continue to lead to a lot of open looks if they just want to jam the paint all game.
Game 1 - Boston 36% from 3

Season - Boston 35.6% from 3

Look I get the C's missed some open shots, but they didn't shoot 20%, they shot a hair above the season average.  This wasn't a poor shooting day.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Anyone have the splits on open vs contested shots?  While it’s a good point that the Celtics aren’t a great 3-pt shooting team (season average might be a bit misleading though considering how the first half of the year went), they did seem to miss a lot more open shots

No, the problem was the rest of the shooting, inside the arc. That was historically awful.

True, but the post I was responding to was talking about 3 pointers and frankly the Bucks interior defense is so good, I wouldn't expect Boston to hit 2 pointers at its season averaged of 54.7%.  Absolutely should be better than yesterday, but may not even hit the seasons average.

Agreed, the Bucks pack the paint and now they run a huge lineup to protect the rim. Our 3pt shooing % was fine.

People are saying "boston needs to just shoot better from threes", not really the case. As people have pointed out they shot better than their average. "Pull Lopez out of the middle" Horford was Shooting a lot from deep and Lopez went out to contest some of them from memory. This is were Williams lack of shot is hurting, and really needs to work on a 15-18 footer.

Boston needs to move the ball from side to side faster and often, get Mil out of position and scrambling and then attack the rim drawing fouls getting Lopez,Giannis in a bit of trouble early in both halfs. Tatum and Brown have to be more aggressive. Post Al.

It felt like Boston did that a bit n the first quarter but once Mil stepped their D up they coward.

This team is close, maybe they figure it out, Mil is were Boston wants to be, but Mil has some better pieces right now, or at least ones that are stepping up. And thats what Stevens off season will be. He did a good job getting the team cleaned up and giving them a base. Not sure if it's as simple as adding a Horford replacement with the TE, adding some role players with it, or Moving on from Brown(who I love) with some one a bit more consistent, better ball handler to break halfcourt D.

I mean this team is young though, Jordan took his beatings at Brown and Tatums age. If they can't beat Mil, it might be like Jordan having to over come Detroit. Part of growing up.

Not unless his middle name is Gillooly and he’s waiting in the parking lot with a tire iron. Maybe not even then.

Get out and run. Attack the basket before Portis and Lopez get back and set. Run those guys off the floor. That's how you get more post points.

They killed is in transition. I think 28 points off TOs? That’s crazy.

It feels like there are a lot of things where, if we do just one, it’s a different game. JB doesn’t suck; limit points off TOs; take better shots inside the arc.

JB always seems to bounce back after a bad game. He is a very serious player who works his tail off. No reason this one should be any different.  I predict he has a big 1st quarter as he often does.
