Excited to see how the rest of the roster pans out in the next few days. When is the deadline for players to be bought out?

KZ Okpala was released by OKC. Maybe he could be a candidate for a two-way contract? Not a consistent shooter (yet?) and supposedly not a great defender, but he has good size (6-8), great athleticism and is still only 22. I don't understand why OKC released him, though.
There also has been some twitter chatter that Taurean Prince might be a buyout candidate and he would be perfect as he shoots almost 40% from 3. But Minnesota is very much in contention for the playoffs, so I don't think they will be the ones to cut a useful player. He would be a great get, though.

Thanks for the info.  So i guess Brad doesn’t have to rush things. Maybe he gets guys into 10 day contracts while waiting for the buy outs.

We really need to get a Wing in the buyout market. we literally have no one on the bench that can play SF.

Agree, this is what I think we need most.
Denzel Valentine is here and would be a low cost investment.

If he can stay on the court. He can shoot but can he do anything else?

Correct.  They can have this number of players for two weeks.  After that they’re required to add at least one more to meet the minimum roster size.  So if after the All-Star break there’s no one available the Celtics want to sign for a full season, I expect they’ll add someone via a 10-day while waiting for buyouts to be finalized.

From that list, I would take Willie Cauley-Stein and Nik Stauskas.  I think these two vets could step right in and provide depth where we need it most, conditional to that I don't know either's health status.  I may also consider Harry Giles, just to see if there is anything there.  Would not expect anything out of him this season but maybe down the road.

Pat Connaughton broke his hand vs. Suns last Thursday.

Figure the Bucks have to become favorites to sign someone like Gary Harris if he gets bought out.

I think Celtics could use the bi-annual exception, which could make a difference during negotiations, though it would put them back into the tax, so it is unlikely it would be used this season, considering all the trouble they went through to lower the payroll. But maybe they would consider it, if the team continues to play great and the player available is a difference-maker. And Gary Harris is that kind of player in my book. 3 guard rotation of Smart-White-Harris would be sick.

No, they cannot use the BAE, because they used the taxpayer MLE for Schröder.  You can only use the bi-annual in the same season as the nontaxpayer MLE.

The bucks have a guard-wing rotation of Jrue, George Hill, Keri’s Middleton, Grayson Allen, and Wes Matthews even with Connaughton hurt, so it’s still not clear to me that the Celtics couldn’t offer more minutes.
