Why are we spending so much time talking about Lillard if brown is not on the table? So unrealistic.
Disagree. Given Lillard's age (31yo) + massive salary ($40mil this year with another $135mil owed for next 3 years), there will only be a small number of teams going after him.
At his age he is not suitable for teams that are rebuilding because he'll be too old by the time they are ready to compete. So only contenders and near-contenders will be in the running. Then you add his salary and the difficulty of absorbing that / matching salaries and the pack thins further.
I believe Lillard will be available for something similar to what Houston got for Harden (Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, a bunch of picks and pick swaps).
But we have to wait for (if!!) Portland decides to pull the plug and blow it up. For them to finally admit to themselves that they cannot win with their current team, have too few avenues for major improvements and that Lillard is too old to go through a full blown rebuilding process so they are better off selling Lillard to the highest bidder and starting over.
